The only way to earn it is to set a standard and stick to it. They've already gone from 10 to 8 auto-picks. No need to make it even fewer.

I'm taking a very American point-of-view on this. I just don't think think the amount those guys care about locking up an auto-pick for the Ryder Cup is in the same stratosphere as how much they care about trying to win golf tournaments. The Ryder Cup is an exhibition.

One of my friends from college took her 8 year old son to the PGA today and Jordan tossed him an autographed golf ball about 40 minutes ago. She posted a pic on FB and I’ve never seen a happier kid. Very cool moment for both her and her son.
