Hylands was fun in the wind yesterday. So frustratingly close to finding my swing again.

 

Looks like weather wise Tuesday or Wednesday next week - anyone? Need to burn my certificates for Hylands or Prairie View

I also realized something on the way home. After #16 I took my blue tinted prescription sunglasses off....and put my regular glasses on. Then preceded to whif/bunt my tee shots next two holes..among other shots. Don't change glasses in middle of round!! Maybe my normal glasses suck??

Paul, #17 was not kind to you. Glasses my a$$, it was karma for willing Doc's putt in on the previous hole to hose me out of cash. Yep, THAT'S it.

Hey y'all, I'm moving to Indy this fall (hopefully) for college at Wabash. Wanted to see if I could be a bit of a part of the community and see what courses kinda in my area would be good public tracks to play when I get bored of the local CC. Nice to meet everyone and hope to get some golf in with some of you in the future.

Welcome aboard. Probably shouldn't tell you what I do for a living. Let's just say I'll be curious to know if your campus (or any campus around the state) will be open in the fall.

 

Wabash is in Crawfordsville I believe? That should put you roughly 35-45 minutes or so from Purdue, but also 35-45 minutes to the NW side of Indy and courses like GCI, Trophy Club and such. Not a bad middle ground but I don't know what else is out there. Coming into Indy on 74 there is West Chase which is a nice track near Brownsburg. There's another course right next to it that I haven't played which you can see from 74, but the name slips my mind.

Well now you got me curious haha. Yep Wabash is Crawfordsville which yeah seems like for the most part I'll have to do a bit of driving to get anywhere but seems like the Purdue courses and Trophy Club are solid picks. Saw TC has a $350 pass for 10 rounds weekdays which I might have to get if I end up liking the course.

Welcome! Eagle Creek is on the NW side and a good option for you. A few of us play courses NE of Indy at times because they're in close proximity to where we live BUT we sometimes wander to other areas as well.

welcome! I’m up in Lafayette, so closer to you. Trophy club, the Purdue courses, and Harrison hills in Attica are great. Coming to Lafayette for almost any course will be worth your time. Twin bridges and maybe rocky ridge are others to check out. If you get a chance definitely go to Ulen country club in Lebanon

I need help on a possible golf trip to the Indy area in September. There are six of us, and we are looking to get 3 or 4 rounds in over 3 days. I know they want to do Brickyard so that is eating up quite a bit of budget. What do you guys think of Hickory Stick and The Legends? Trying to keep it around the $50 are for the courses other than Brickyard. Anything better out there for around that price? Don't know where we are staying yet, but can plan the hotel around your recommendations for courses. If this is in the wrong spot just tell me, and I'll move it. Thanks in advance!

I'd play Hickory Stick, Royal Hylands and Trophy Club as my 3 rounds around $50. Each is in a different direction so plan accordingly.

You can play some of the bigger names like purgatory and bear slide under $50 if you do afternoon/twilight.

Speaking of purgatory we did the Mother’s Day take and bake from there. Holy god it was the worst meal I’ve had in a long time.
