Good to hear never played it but it’s always on my list to try out every year but I never get around to it.

I'm going back for more on Saturday. It's short from the back tees but it just doesnt feel short while you're playing it, and there's not an easy 4 footer on the course for me.

Agreed, one of my favorites. A darn good walk too, from 12 to finish is a true test of stamina.

Yeah definitely. I was huffing and puffing coming up #15 and #18.

When you say a good walk what would you compare it to? I usually walk peace portal when I play there a couple times a year. Just wondering how prepared I need to be if I finally make the trip out .

The whole course is on the side of a hill: literally. Not sure it still works, but there used to be a 'gravity hill' on the road to the course. If you walk Redwoods, Northlands, etc... Ledgeview is no worse than those. It's short and the holes are close to each other so it's not bad IMHO.

Personally I'm not a fan, it's the closest course to where the family is and I never play it. Back in the day we'd play it now and again, but picked the Chilliwack, Bellingham, and Langley courses ahead of it.

Good to hear another take on the course. It’s always good to hear good and bad of all courses for sure. Might wait for a cheap Golfnow early am time one of these days to get a feel for the course if they are even on that app anymore which I haven’t used in a couple years. Headed out to furry creek next week which from what I hear is basically a tricked up golf course but I haven’t played it yet. Need to cross off another course from my massive list of places I need to play atleast once.

It's certainly walkable, you just hike up the mountain on holes #6, 9, 16, 18 with a few other dips and valleys mixed in there. I would say a similar walking experience to Redwoods and a little more uphill walking than Peace Portal.

Truth is, I used to be really 'meh' on the course. But that was because I was always trying to impose my game on it rather than take what the course gives. There are plenty of opportunities to score and a handful of holes where I'm just trying to survive.

I would definitely liken it to Peace Portal in terms of uphill climbs. If you can take on Portal you'll be fine at Ledgeview.

We all have our likes and dislikes, and I'd never say don't play a course or that it's actually bad (except for Furry Creek ;-) just if you're coming out from Vancouver, I'd want to temper expectations some.

But of course a place that produces Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor cannot be too shabby. And TBF, I've not played Ledgeview in ages, next time I am up I'll see about getting a round in and maybe I'll change my tune!

Well I still don’t know how to feel about furry creek after playing it for the first time this morning. Views are great but the majority of the actual golf holes are not good. Definitely somewhere I’d only play once every couple years.

Played Westwood Plateau today. I haven’t played there in probably 8-9 years, and I was well aware of how the course conditions had reportedly declined.

I quite liked the course. A few gimicky holes (15 comes to mind) but also some very nice holes and memorable vistas. It’s mountain/target golf in some areas, but I overall like the layout.

In terms of conditions they were generally better than expected. I say generally because yes, plenty of bunkers are inexplicably blanketed in small to medium sized stones. Why not rake those up? The bunkers seemed to have plenty of sand, so why are there literal stones everywhere. There were also the odd mud spots behind a few greens and the odd dry patch in a fairway or green.

But....the course was otherwise in good shape. Greens were fast and true, tee boxes were okay, and fairways were just fine. And most importantly the price is right. As noted above it was free for me, but rack rate was $81 including cart. With cart those are Hazelmere or Peace Portal prices, and the conditions were no worse (save for the bunkers) than either of those courses, and the views are much better.

I appreciate that this is end of summer so the course is probably in as good as shape as it’s in all year, and that it is probably still several notches below its former prime, but I would gladly pay $81 to play here right now.

Played the canal at northview yesterday, conditions were great except for the slow greens. Glad i just paid a twilight rate as their regular rates are ridiculously high in my opinion. Probably the slowest greens of any decent course.

Played king's links last week and it was amazing- fairways were hard and fast and so were the greens. Best fairways and greens in my opinion!

Kings links is in crazy good shape right now such a fun course nothing like it in the lower mainland as far as i know. greens are mint.

Also played pagoda ridge other day course was in good shape but they punched the greens recently unfortunately still little bumpy.

Also hazelmere in really good shape this year just avoid prime times i have had a few super slow rounds. Normally burnt up by august but not this year!!! better shape then portal...in my opinion

Agreed with both your opinions on hazelmere and kings links. Just got home from kings links and had an absolute blast. Course is in phenomenal shape and the winds were way up which made for some fun shots and long drives. Having to start your tee shot over the water on the last par 3 and have the wind take it across the green into the bunker is something else. Can’t wait to get back out there this year.

The approach on 17 has killed me on my last two visits there. Club to club and a half wind and all these bad thoughts creep into my head.

One of the lower mainland's finest courses for sure!

last 3 holes are tough and yeah winds get crazy its tricky. the long par 4 after that par 3 is brutal with the wind sometimes too

16/17/18 will ruin your good score rough 3 holes to end your day. playing there again tomorrow morning cant wait.

played northview canal today at around 3 surprised with how hard the greens were course was very dry. lightning fast greens nothing would stick.

Played Peace Portal yesterday morning.

Greens were rolling nicely and the layout is always fun, but the fairways are in piss-poor shape. Lots of clover, lots of weeds, tons of small bare dirt spots - you're just as likely to get a crappy lie as you are a good one in the fairway. We played lift, clean & cheat in the fairways and had a really enjoyable time.

Played North Bellingham this morning while the Mrs did some shopping. Got the full round in before any of this nasty weather set in. Had the whole course to myself.

They have this cool promo on Sundays where you mention how many points the Seahawks scored the previous Sunday and receive that percentage amount off your green fee. They score 28 last weekend, so I had 28% off. Which was nice since the greens were sandboxes and there was no mention of that that I saw anywhere nor at check in and the green fee would have been full pop otherwise.
