All this talk about Alison's game, what about Brittany Lang? Playing in her 7th event of the year, she's missed the cut 4 times, and has a 48T and 76T in two weekends of play. She's shot +6 today, and will likely miss her 5th cut.

And on the other side of the coin - NYC +7 after 5 to include a quad at #2.

Sad. What happened to her? Her game is seriously gone.

I think it's a combo of injury and lack of confidence......she's been playing poorly for a while....I think NYC's golf career is over.

Lang is one of the more athletic pros on tour....but that doesn't always translate to be a weekly contender.

Other 'jocks' include Ryann and Joanna Klatten...we rarely see them late on Sunday.

Lang caught lightening in a bottle at the 2016 USWO....and wasn't overly convincing in her 2012 Manulife win.

I've always thought Lang's weakness has been a mental one and lack of confidence...she can't pull the trigger unless Luke says ok.

 

Su Oh is also playing poorly this year.

 

Meanwhile you have chubby Jenny Money and Inbee contending often.

I think Inbee has fooled us all with her supposed injuries and wanting to retire and start a family...winning a gold medal and sky rocketing quickly up the RR this year....at the beginning of this year, I never thought Inbee would be part of the Korean International Crown team to be played in Incheon,.....8,000+ Flying Dumbos won't be happy come Oct. 4th.

The course restoration by Kyle Phillips was about 2010. It looks a little shaggy right now. The new superintendent will have it turned around soon I hope.

Yeah, was Jessica wearing yoga pants? Actually, it had a back pocket, which seems to be a key requirement in the new dress code.

I don't think it was a big surprise to see a lot of the players struggle on the greens, given that this is their first tournament there. I expect the putting to improve by Sunday.

I watched a complete round of Brittany Lang, R2 at the Aussie Open, and she shot the low round of the group, beating So Yeon Ryu and Karrie Webb. But it seems that was about her best day on the course this year - and to be honest, it wasn't impressive. I hate to speculate on such things, but I wondered about her health as she looked weary and disinterested, and just snuck along to get inside the cut line.

There's certainly been changes - not much happening for Sei Young Kim, Amy Yang and players like them that used to be in the top 10 most rounds. Seeing more action from Marina Alex, Eun Hi Ji, Pernilla and of course Moriya. Freshens up the tour.

There's certainly been changes - not much happening for Sei Young Kim, Amy Yang and players like them that used to be in the top 10 most rounds. The season so far does seem more topsy-turvy than the past few. More than a handful of last years standouts have gotten off to ho-hum starts (e.g. So Yeon, Sung Hyun, Lexi). A few rookies have shown up to play (Jin Young, Emma, Erynne), and a few journeywomen have upped their games (e.g. Pernilla, Eun-Hee).

'Probably has something to do with the 8/20 fairways hit. She certainly has some length, but she can be quite wild off the tee at times. I hope she isn't watching videos of Yani.

 

So Yeon is having a nice morning at -4, climbing back into contention. Otherwise the scores look pretty flat.

In 2015 I saw Q Baek playing her last hole on Friday before missing the cut. I heard her say to her playing partner that she was glad it's her last hole...she looked quite sad.

 

I think Q was home sick....but yes....she's likely less home sick on the KLPGA but being home ....she hasn't found her game.
