As an NYC fan this thought is disheartening.

Vicky Hurst shot -1 in the Monday qualifier along with Julieta Granada and Emily Tubert, how did they decided who got the spots? Would Vicky have gotten in if NYC withdrew before the tournament started?

I believe there was a 3 way playoff to determine the final 2 spots for Monday qualifying.

And I believe coming short in the playoff...doesn't alter Vicky's status on the event's alternate list priority.

I watched a complete round of Brittany Lang, R2 at the Aussie Open, and she shot the low round of the group, beating So Yeon Ryu and Karrie Webb. But it seems that was about her best day on the course this year - and to be honest, it wasn't impressive. I hate to speculate on such things, but I wondered about her health as she looked weary and disinterested, and just snuck along to get inside the cut line.

So what was wrong with the way Lang looked that would make her unhealthy?....she's a gym rat and looks healthy on the rare times we see her on TV.

Lang is a nice lady and very approachable....just a touch stoic....this is her 13th year...she's likely won close to $9-10M in gross earnings and endorsements and maybe might want to pack it in soon to to start a family with Kevin.

Maybe she feels a bit obligated to play so that Luke can make some money...though I'm sure Luke can find another bag on his own.

Nice round by Natalie. She definitely knows the course.

Emma Talley has game. I expect her to be the next rookie to win on tour.

Not sure why they didn't flip the nines. Finishing with a par 3?

I'd go with Hannah Green as the next rookie most likely to get a win, but I think it's one of those 2

The biggest disappointment so far this year is rookie Georgia Hall.

Yikes! Brooke at +7 for the day? That hurts.

Looks like Natalie is going to miss the cut after a nice opening round.

Danielle and Nelly are also likely to miss the cut. The course has teeth.

Brooke, Danielle and Nelly are aggressive players and I think this course eats those type for lunch lol. Brooke probably was running on fumes too, she looked horrible (like she was 40) in her post round interview yesterday.

Well now I will be cheering on Minjee (curse of death for her lol), would love Sei Young Kim to do well but she's ultra aggressive too so she'll probably shoot a 75.

For my Canadian content I follow the Big Ten women's Championship as Jaclyn Lee of Ohio State has the individual lead right now, her team isn't doing much to help her at this point though lol

The "announcers" curse appears to be in full force here this week. Any positive mention of a player is good for an extra 3 or 4 strokes.

Three players shot +10 or worse this morning. 'Pretty brutal stuff.

Heard it was for TV and trophy presentation at end of tourney. More / better crowd area to watch finish.

That par 3 is usually 10. What is now being played as #17 is usually #18. It is in a low spot with a creek surrounding most of the green....difficult spot for finishing hole crowds/corporate tents.

That's a pity, because their 17th looks like a nice risk/reward finishing hole.

I said "and endorsements"...I'm guessing Lang has made $2.7M+ in sponsorships in 13 years on tour???

Didn't she violate the dress-code?

Not that I'm complaining...

:taunt:

Can we narrow this down? Who are we talking about?

Sorry... Natalie.. also, I though I saw someone else wearing leggings without skirts...

Was watching the replay after I posted the question and figured that had to be who you were talking about.

Definitely no complaints from here :taunt:

If I could the little emoji dude that holds up the "this thread is worthless without pictures" banner I would post it now!

I was just reporting what I saw that day - not on her career earnings or charm as a person, or her gym program. Her eyes were dull, she looked a little hunched, and all her movements were slow and lacked pep. It might have been nothing more than a flu, or a bad night's sleep - but that is the one and only round I have watched her play, so those are the images i have in my head of her. And, as I reported, in her group she won the day eventually, just by sneaking along with par golf and holding it together.

Interesting comments by Inbee after her round regarding the poa greens. It would seem that Moriya's 66 was even more impressive given the greens.

Natalie and Hee Young both made the cut. I'll sleep with a clear conscience tonight, but that was a little too close.

A lot of surprises below the cut line. I guess a new course with tricky greens can do that.

So, the big question for the weekend will be whether Moriya or Marina can snag their first wins. It should be interesting tomorrow.

Saw that Shanshan was paired with Stacy on Thurs/Fri.....I assume Jenny Money didn't ask SNaP to join her for dim sum this weekend.

Remember Stacy moaning about how she lost to a lucky shot in Beijing in 2013 against Feng....lol

No In Gee, no SHP, no NYC and no Angel Yin means I can work Saturday and play golf on Sunday instead of wasting my time at Wilshire. Maybe when I am in Korea next year I can see Sung Hyun compete in a Dream Tour event. Wow the West Coast Swing has been a dud.

I guess you're disappointed you won't be able to chat with any LA Flying Dumbo's or Attack Girls this weekend.

This event is crickets....no spectators.....13M+ population in metro LA and no one willing to watch.
