Really glad Hee Young made it in. That timing was uncanny :(

 

I'm torn for the weekend. I'm always happy for players to get their first wins, kind of the best thing that can happen. Moriya especially has been close some times, totally want her to cross the finish line.

 

But I have to cheer for So Yeon.

 

I hope the weekend crowd does pick up to give the tournament a good first run.

Tough track and spotty greens for the ladies.

Interesting comments by Inbee after her round regarding the poa greens. It would seem that Moriya's 66 was even more impressive given the greens.

 

Natalie and Hee Young both made the cut. I'll sleep with a clear conscience tonight, but that was a little too close.

 

A lot of surprises below the cut line. I guess a new course with tricky greens can do that.

 

So, the big question for the weekend will be whether Moriya or Marina can snag their first wins. It should be interesting tomorrow.

 

What did Inbee say about the greens?

 

She said they were slow and bumpy in the afternoons. They rolled smooth in the morning, but the poa buds midday, and makes it tough to put a good roll on the ball.

Look how long it took Tbowles to get over Paula....I've got to believe he still secretly FAWNS over Creamer...especially now that she and Derek are separated.....even standing next to Blair O'Neal and getting a selfie with her....didn't change Tommy's loyalty to The Pink Panther...and Blair is PRETTY SWEET!....Ms. O'Neal is the only reason I watch School of Golf. :taunt:

Early call....I unfortunately think Marina and Moriya won't win...both have played well in the past but have never closed it out....hopefully they prove me wrong, which isn't difficult.

Cristie has to be slow playing HYP (or just slow altogether). 4 hours into their twosome and they just finished 16.

Whan needs to make this a major. It can replace the ANA. This course is much more of a challenge.

After our round today I stayed and signed every single autograph for those who had their hand out. Oh wait, it was the guys looking for the payout. Regardless, I signed every check.

Once again, Moriya is in position to seal her first win. Does she have it in her? She had a fairly shaky round today, but minimized the damage. Inbee is surely itching to get a 2nd win this season, given that she's been knocking on the door lately.

 

Marina still has a chance, but it's not going to be easy. With a 68 by either leader, she needs to really go low.

Noticing some good rounds from Bronte Law and Caroline Inglis. I don't know if this is a trend that will continue. Not much happening with Hannah Green and Luna Sobron. Sherman Santi etc. is improving too.

Enjoying this event...used to play Wilshire a bunch in 90s when I was good friends with a member, and worked with 5 time (?) club champ Bud Bradley....we always had fun, especially since my friend thought non-stop bloody mary's were a good idea!

 

Haven't played since remodel...looks interesting. Is the waste area part of the design, or was it a financial decision...I know lots of private clubs put these waste areas in because of the rebates from the government for saving water.
