Well, woke up to snow in northwest Iowa this morning and still snowing, lol. Having to go stir crazy on a Sunday isn't a good recipe for a happy Monday.

i got a tee time about 20 years ago ... you had to write in about 1 1/2 years ahead of time, and they'd place it in order they received ... think i went in mid-may, also ... just a quick trip over for 3 courses and then back ... so it's neat to have this feeling of christmas over a tee time ... but i'm ready for that email, one way or the other ...

Will be in line super early for a chance next July. I'm sort of glad I'm not locked into the Castle Course. Now I can play Carnoustie or Kingsbarns.

My Dad and I didn't get it this year, but if I have enough PTO saved up I'll be getting there. It's one of the best experiences of my life, and I hope you all have fun/get on somehow!

Not selected, congrats to all who were! Can't complain, we had the best family trip ever in June!

 

BUT, was checking favorable flight pricing/dates and with a "just the two of us" trip this time around - the wife was into it!

 

Flights booked, lodging enquiries out for first week of trip already! Going to spend a week in the Kintyre area, then likely to Fife. Probably a little less golf per week ratio (though she plays), more relaxing and unwinding the first week, a smaller, sporty car and maybe some East "Neuk-ie", lol.
