What is your biggest difference in 9 hole score during a 18 hole round? Tale of two nines

Many many moons ago, playing a course I had never been on before, I put up a 35 on the front. It was my first 9 under par and I was pretty stoked going into the back. Had a beer at the turn, proceeded to puke my way to a 53 on the back.

I haven't been there in years, but man that was a great course. When I played it, they had a trailer in a parking lot for a clubhouse. I think it was 08 or 09 maybe.

It's a nice trailer with a deck built up around it, but yep, still there!

 

Honestly, it is the best course down there when viewed strictly from a lens of "could this course host a PGA Tour event."  Not the best design necessarily, but just so much space and character to it.  I love it.

There was no porch when I went. Just what looked like a construction trailer in a parking lot. 
 

it was a great course. I was working in Panama City and played it several times while I was there. 
 

I also played the course that used to host Q School back beach road (can’t remember the name of the course, but I think it closed down a few years ago). Seems that course is a winery now. It was good, but nothing compared to Windswept Dunes.

The course that used to host qualifiers was The Hombre.  They had 3 9's: the Good, the Bad, & the Ugly.  I've never seen a course that drained worse than that one, but it was a good design for medal play golf.

Had an interesting round yesterday.  Got off to a good start and then caught a case of the shanks.  Managed to work through it and salvaged the round.
