Bridgestone J33 CB Irons, what new forged CB is similar?

I want to upgrade my irons but I am so used to the look and feel of my Bridgestone J33 CBs. I like the compact look, thin sole, minimal offset, forged feel and simple design.

What modern forged CB is most similar to these irons? I am thinking the Srixon Z 785s but have not seen those in person, I think they are not as compact as the J33 CBs based on what I saw with the Z 765s.

The closet one I saw were the J15 MBs which were almost identical, the MBs are too much club for though.

Thanks.

Wilson Staff V6 are very simplistic. I'm looking to get a raw set in the near future...and the Hogan PTx, which would also put a tic in your check box.

Thanks, I just looked at those. Beautiful clubs, traditional lofts like the J33 CBs too, 47* PW and 27* 5 Iron. They are 1/2" longer though but can probably be custom made.

The Z785 is gorgeous... If I hadn't switched to single length they would be in my bag right now.

The closest you are going to get to the 33's are the Titleist 718 CB's.

The Wilson V6's are a beautiful club but nothing like the 33's.

The Srixons 785's are closer then the V6's.

Ping G410+ Tensei Orange Pro.

Mizuno GT180 shaft as above.

Adams 3H  Aldila Blue.

Wilson FG100 4i-PW.

Wilson PMP 52/56/60

Putters....too many.

J15CB's are where you want to be.

Thanks. Can't find these new anywhere.

New here >>>>> http://www.golfonlin...ne_j15_cb_irons

that would be $780USD

Are the Srixon 785s and Titleist 716 CBs the same size, or is the Srixon a bigger profile. Thanks.

You are asking a guy who has only played blades all his life, but having hit both of those irons the Srixon is bigger as in that it has a thicker topline and when looking down at it, it has the CB square look about it. The 716-718's sit like blades.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I was looking at my son's MP 62s and they look a lot like the J33 CBs so I got interested in the Mizuno MP 18 Combo, not exactly the same as the J33s but got an itch to play Mizuno MPs.

Combo is:

  • MIZUNO MP-18 MMC 4,5 Fli-Hi SC 6-8 MB 9,PW IRONS (4-PW)
  • Steel Shafts - Factory NS Pro Modus3 Tour 105 Steel Regular Flex

Never tried this shaft, coming from NS Pro 950 GH so I hope it works out. It's like buying 3 different MPs and I am excited, the last combo I played was the MacGregor 1025 CM and that was awhile back.

Thanks again for the suggestions. Enjoy the holidays.
