Distance wise it was more like a driver IMO. I could see using it on tighter courses if you have trouble spraying your driver. I actually do like the shaft in it. I hit it off the deck only once and it was ok. The rep only had the 11.5 so I couldn't get the height I was happy with and I didn't mess with the loft any.

I've got the same thought about throwing this in with my short set, but the potential limit off the deck has me wondering if this will be versatile enough to pull driver out of my bag. My second longest club in the 8 pack bag is a hybrid, so the only advantage I'd pick with the mini is if it can be played off the deck. I'm starting to think that I might be able to get more versatility out of "3 Deep" type of club than a mini driver.

It still looks really cool and has me thinking...

Available for pre-order today. Anyone know much about the stock shaft? Diamana F limited? Looks like a “made for shaft”. Pretty close to the same paint job as the DF. Only comes in R and S though. No X.

Hopefully the taylormade guys will have one to test out at demo days next week. $400 is a tough pill to swallow though.

Wow does this look special!! I had the Aeroburner Mini and still pull that out once in a while. But as others have already mentioned, I will not be picking one up right away brand new for $400. Maybe if I could put the exact shaft I wanted to in there I would strongly consider it. But, I'm also loving my M2 so much these past couple years that it would be a hard sell to completely pull out of the bag. Tough choice to make when you don't have much money to blow on something you might not use all the time.

I’ll be getting one of these. It’ll replace my 3-Wood that I almost never use as the two courses at my club aren’t long enough for it and to be fair if I’m 220+ yards out the chances of me hitting the green are minimal at best. I also don’t like the G400 3-Wood off the tee, it’s too shallow.

I can see this Mini driver working on quite a few holes, a ditch runs across about 10 holes of the 36 from 180-230y and I carry my driver 200-230y typically. So, this can be used to lay up as required, plus a 220y par 3 and a handful of narrow, short par 4s.

Will be ordering one in the next couple of days for sure and selling the 3-Wood and probably my 19* hybrid which hardly gets used either to fund it.

Ordered today. Looking to replace my driver. I can hit a 3 wood all day long but driver is just a mess for me and always has been. Hoping this is longer than my 3 wood and more consistent than the driver. 11.5 w/ Rogue 60X tipped an inch standard length. Will report back with some results hopefully in early May.

Exactly my train of thought. I am tempted to pull the trigger. Any suggestions on the best shaft from the customize tool?

They’ve got all the Diamana premium options and Tour Ad. Those are obviously going to feel the best for most but you’ll pay for it. I’m partial to Aldila so the Rogue at no cost was a no brained for me.

The Original One is exactly what I was hoping would be made..I can't hit a 3 wood off the tee to save my life, I hate how much smaller the head is compared to my 460cc driver. Can't hit it off the deck either. So, the OOMD will give me a good option off the tee, and since i'm going to get the 13.5 degree model maybe the added head size will give me more confidence off the deck. It also looks great to me, and i've been a diamana fan since the first iteration. Sign me up.

its a "mini driver" that is priced right in between a fairway wood and a driver... what were you expecting?
