And he was using C-Taper protos for ages before that. Based on that and the preference he has seemed to have for graphite shafts, I think he is a guy that really does not want to feel loading in his swing, which would make sense with the PX 6.5s at his swing speed and tempo.

I think it's safe to say that he won't be changing anytime soon. Also, it goes to show that new isn't always better. Good for Stricks!!

Would love to have some more discussion about this. I love watching him play, but always noticed he is gaming more rebar than some of the biggest hitters on tour. Always wondered why. Also, pretty low lofts in the woods along with the heavier and stiffer shafts leaves me curious as well.

I reckon it is a natural equipment related progression of his swing mechanics. A very simple, one piece back swing with little to no wrist hinge could have the logical extension of stiff, one piece shafts with very little loading or flexibility. He definitely seems to want the whole feel and motion to have as few moving parts as possible. Plus, as someone who prefers to draw the ball it seems, the stout shafts might help keep that in check.

Makes sense, and I have no doubt he is properly fit. As much as I like watching him play, finding clips of his actual ballflight is sometimes difficult. I know he plays a draw primarily, but does anyone know how hard a curve he plays to, or how high the flight typically is?

The recent USGA highlight videos on youtube from the tournament he just won have a few protracer shots with various irons and one or two fairway woods I think. I don't recall a driver though. His ball flight definitely seems to be on the low to low-mid side, which makes sense.

I do remember that the fairway woods he was hitting of the deck were VERY low, hah.

I think he goes 13.5 fairway and then 17 hybrid. The 3 wood is an F/D I think? How he gets that off the ground is beyond me.

He has supreme confidence in that club too. Almost used that 3-wood exclusively off the tee over the weekend in the USSO.

 

Stood nearby when he hit that club off the deck on a par-5 at the AmFam a couple of weeks ago, and its a f'in missile launcher.

 

He said in an interview yesterday that he's playing the 755's mainly because of the shafts, and he likes the little bit of added offset the 755's have. He had to stop using his 710 AP2 because the KBS shafts bent, and because it was a one-off prototype KBS couldn't replicate/reproduce them in a new set.
