I have continued to put the OnCore in play against the ProV1x and the Snell MTB-X. At the end of the day, I don't see the differences among their characteristics affecting my scoring. The Snell is the longest, the Titleist has the best spin/distance combination and the OnCore feels the best. That said, the differences (outside of feel) are so marginal that I could play any of the 3 happily. I do not see enough of an upgrade with the Titleists to justify the extra cost.

I feel this way between the K-Sig, Oncore & AVX. All have their pros and cons but all work just fine!

Thanks for the opportunity to test these. I tested against ProV1X, Snell Red, and Srixon XV.

Overall... I didn't really notice much difference. Spin, distance, feel, I could have played any of them. They are all "tour" level balls. Seems like we are reaching a stage in golf ball design where there are lots of great balls on the Market. Maybe the OnCore was a tad shorter than some of the others? Honestly I would need to do more testing to figure this out. The OnCore had fantastic feel.

I gave a sleeve of the OnCore to three of my friends I was playing with, and the unanimous opinion was basically "I liked it. Just as good as any other ball I play"

My final take on this ball is that I like it and could very, very easily play it. As most have said, FEEL was good and that would be the primary reason for me. I did think that the OnCore spun better for me than others, but maybe I just happened to strike those well. I did NOT experience any distance loss (well maybe a little per the pic - :D ).

Played 18 on Wednesday, alternating between the Oncore and Q Star Tour. The Oncore is definitely the better feeling ball in the short game. Off the tee, and out of the rough, it wasn't my favorite. I feel like the Oncore has more of an inconsistent flight. The QST would launch and fly as I expected based on the quality of strike...but the Oncore had some unpredictable behavior. One hole...par 3, 180 downhill. Took a hybrid off the tee with the Oncore. Struck it as sweet as can be. Ball launched as I expected, but wiggled left, then right, then left again, before hitting the green roughly pin high and rolling out to 10' past the hole. Totally didn't expect the wobble. Typically, on that kind of strike, my QST flies straight, with maybe a 2-3 yard fade. Can't complain though. Best shot of the day. Couple of other tee shots with the Oncore just seemed to fall out of the air when I hit a heely cut, which was unexpected.

Around the green though, this ball is a pleasure to play with. Chips would check up nicely, nice soft feel of the putter without feeling like a marshmallow.

As a follow up to my earlier post, I didn't see any noticeable drop off in expected distance this time, so it may have just been a strange day the last go around.

Overall, I'd say that this ball is worth trying for anyone looking for a ball in this type of price range. Wouldn't recommend it outright over one the major brands, but I'd definitely call it a winner over the Cut and Vice balls that I've tried in the past, but would say that it's going to be up the the particular player. Love the feel of it 80 yards and in. Definitely would recommend trying just for that reason.

Thanks again to WRX and Oncore for giving me the opportunity to review. I'll continue to provide updates until I run out of this pack.

Gave one to my playing partner to try on Friday...first tee shanked it into the trees OB...needless to say, he didn't have much feedback for you guys

I did however get another 18 in with the OnCore and it went very similar to my last 18. Didn't notice it to be any shorter than my 20xi this round which was nice as it was the only negative I had on the ball from my first 18 with it.

The spin I was generating was great, held greens all day from Pw to 5 wood (yes stuck a par 5 in two from 240 out with my trusty old 5 banger...and proceeded to 3 putt). Chipping was excellent once again with just enough spin when struck correctly.

Overall this round provided me with the mindset that this ball is the real deal and good for my game. OnCore will be in my testing for my next go to ball once I run out of the 20xi's.

I apologize to OnCore and GolfWRX for such a slow response. I have been lucky enough to have been selected for a few opportunities like this, and am histrionically quick to post my review and actively participate in the discussion. I have struggled to write this because I felt like I am expected to write a positive review. After multiple rounds and now a session on a Trackman these balls are simply not suited for me. However, I promised to write a review and feel that I must do so.

A little about me: I waiver around a 10 handicap currently. I am a relatively long hitter (not by GolfWRX standards); 280-ish off the tee, 150 yard PW, & 175 8i. I am a fairly high spinner of the ball with my irons and a natural high-ball-hitter. I am happy to see most wedges back up and my high irons stop very close to their pitch mark.

I currently play a Vice Pro-Plus after graduating from the Kirkland Four-Piece ball. Based on my current and previous love of non major-brand golf balls, I was excited to try the OnCore. My first round with them was a side-by-side with my current Vice, and Pro-V1 and the OnCore at my local 9-hole course. Most holes are under 100 yards with a very challenging set-up so I thought this would be a great test. I tried to play each hole blind, not looking at each ball before I dropped it and hit off the grass tee box. Sadly, after 2 holes the blindness was gone, the OnCore had a noticeably "clickier" sound off the wedge. I didn't notice must difference in spin, but the feel was different. I had the same reaction when putting. It wasn't overly firm feeling, it just felt and sounded different. Needless to say, this got in my head and I struggled to adapt.

My next round was a full 18 on my local home course. I think this ball really showed me something was off the tee and with longer shots (3-wood & hybrid specifically). It seems to track well and did not balloon at all. I wouldn't call it any longer, bu the control was great. As positive as that was, the feel and spin with irons was the opposite. My carry was a little short (5-8 yards per club), but not due to too much spin. Consistently my ball would roll out significantly farther than I would typically expect. This was worst with my 9i-PW-GW, improving on each side of the spectrum.

Earlier this week I had an outdoor fitting for a driver (that's a separate post) and when we were done I asked if I could hit a few balls and gather data on the Trackman. My fitter was happy to oblige as I launched 3 brand new OnCore balls out to the range with my 8 iron (which felt both wasteful and productive). The results matched my on course experience; a slightly shorter carry even though there was less spin. That's a hard combination to explain, but my on course results and digital statistics speak for themselves.

As for the packaging and visuals, they look great. Everything looks top-notch and as I would expect for a premium ball. I also appreciate the alignment aid on the ball. I am happy to see this as a trend that is gaining momentum.

Again, I would like to thank OnCore and GolfWRX for the opportunity to test and review these balls. While they will not become my new gamers, I am grateful for the opportunity.

I dont understand how people can say this ball feels good.

I only used it for a hole, but it felt NOTHING like my usual TP5 or Prov1. It isnt even in the same discussion in terms of feel off the club face. Maybe on par with a TruSoft? Which shouldnt be in the same league with its non urethane cover.

I like golf. A lot.

Feel is subjective so each person will have a different idea of what feels good to them. For me, I've tested this ball extensively and it's the best feeling ball I've ever used. YMMV. Also I'd suggest that one hole isn't a big enough sample size to make any judgement.

I just went and played 18 holes this past weekend. 9 holes with my gamer, TP5 and the back 9 with the Oncore Elixr. Distance off the tee was similar, it spun pretty good with full shots and around the greens, but I still cannot get over how "clicky" these balls are, almost to the point where I would call them HARSH. I would never be able to play these based on that fact alone. Performance is good, sure...but when the ball clicks off the face I can't help but think I'm using a Top Flight.

I had my buddy try them as well and he too thought they were incredibly clicky. Compared to a Snell and Kirkland, I cannot recommend using the Elixr if you care about feel.

I like golf. A lot.
