2019 Season- kind of boring

This really comes down to what entertains you. These are the best players in the world at this moment in time, and if you're a fan of the actual game of golf that will be very entertaining to you and hold your attention. If you need a-list celebrities(dominant golfers), media driven marketing, and lots of drama added to the above to be entertained, then there could be a lull going on right now for you. I suspect most (not all) who play the game themselves on a regular basis would be the former, and most casual sports fans would be the latter. I understand the reason people in the business of golf would like the latter, but that's not what wer're talking about here.

 

The golf that's being played on a weekly basis is insane right now. It is incredible the sheer total amount of talent on display, and if you look at it from that perspective versus a reality tv show perspective, it is very entertaining and interesting. What these guys can make a golf ball do with a club is nothing short of ridiculous.

I liked the old schedule significantly better. I just think all of the majors in a short amount of time doesnt give us anything to look forward to. PGA needs to be back at the end of the major lineup.

I think brooks is boring. Don’t get me wrong he’s great at golf and has some incredible highlights on the course but overall he’s just boring. He’s hard to root for and get passionate about. Tiger, Woodland and Lowry all conjured some sort of emotion for me while on the sofa on Sunday. Wolf is exciting. His rookie buddies are great. Rickie having a shot at a win is exciting. Rory charging on the back nine is exciting. Brooks is just blah.

 

That’s why I think the last couple years have been less fun. Coupled with what some earlier said about Jordan and JT having slow years.

I have to agree with OP (and Justin Rose). The majors being so tight together was a mistake. Season ended as soon as it started. With the last putt at the Open the season essentially ended for me.

 

What they had in 2018 was fine. They only needed to push the Ryder Cup/Presidents Cup back to at least 2 weeks after the FedEx so the players weren't drained. They overcomplicated it to make the Players (their premier tournament) at a better spot in the season. I think they'll find that nobody really cares that much about it, nor ever has.

Feels to me like it's mostly over. Didn't renew my live streaming. 2018 I was watching to see if TW would ever win again - check. Early 2019 would TW snag another major - check. Rest of the season has been TW not looking good, and [fill in the blank] wins a tournament. Not suggesting it's inferior golf, just that if I don't really care who wins I mostly have other things to do that I care about more. Kids are adults now, but when they were young I watched a ton of soccer and lacrosse that no one would think was world class. But I watched avidly because I cared about the player(s).

lol...yawn. Innisbrook is milquetoast and Tampa is terrible.

 

Bay Hill is a real golf club and everything about it from the history to its grounds are top notch. Arnie disagrees with you.

This has been the most boring PGA season I can remember. Just not enthralling golf being played.

I'm definitely getting bored of all the regular events where the typical winning score is about -20.

I'd like to see them play less than perfect conditions more often, most am tourney's we're not playing on perfect glass greens, we deal with bumps and imperfections that prevent us from shooting lower scores very often. Give them a normal man tourney couple times a year worth big $$$ so people actually play.
