202 is the highest i have ever put up. That was years back and I just don't have that in me anymore. I think 194 was my highest last year in testing. I should say all my numbers here were with a Tour issue Taylormade SIM driver at 7.6 degrees true loft for those interested.

More swing speeds coming in the next few days.

Aldila does the TX thing with a lot of shafts. They're starting to ship now and the street price is $250. It's a solid shaft. I switched to one from a Rogue Silver 130 and put it in my bag immediately. I'm 116-118 SS with my driver but with the lighter models being more torquey I think this shaft is going to fit a very wide spectrum of players.

I'm currently gaming the Aldila Rogue Silver 125 msi (1st edition tour issue) 60tx in my Ping G410 LST. It was definitely a huge performance upgrade from my Ping G400/Fujikura Atmos Black TX I had. So confident in it right now that I don't want to switch anything with it. I'm super curious as to this in Fairway Woods. As you can see, I've got both Phenom's in my woods and even though these are 8-10 years old, they still flat out perform. Timeless equipment those RIP Phenom shafts were. I'd really love to try this. JT, have you seen this go into any fairway woods or just Drivers?

I play a RIP Phenom 8TX in my 3 wood. I tried a RIPX 85 TX in it and the RIP Phenom is still in my bag. I ran a few hundred balls through the LM with it and my numbers were a little better with the Phenom. It's not a bad FW shaft but since it didn't beat the Phenom I stuck with what I'm used to.

Just received my RIPx 70TX and put it through its paces against my current gamer. Currently playing a Tour Issue M1, 10.5* loft with an Aldila Synergy Black proto TX, 44.5" playing length, tipped 1". For reference, I have a fairly quick tempo, and with my current gamer, have a flatter ball fight.

First off, the RIPx looks pretty cool, the graphics of it are awesome, but not too flashy. I decided on the same specs as my Synergy Black, and the first thing i noticed is how tight the RIPx feels in the tip, but doesn't feel like a piece of lead pipe. The launch and spin were almost identical to my Synergy, but the dispersion and consistency were way better with the RIPx. I also picked up 3-4mph ballspeed with the RIPx, dispite the stiff tip. The RIPx has a very smooth load to it, but i was able feel the clubhead at the bottom of the downswing. I struggle with getting to handsy, but with how tight this shaft is at the bottom, I doesn't feel like I have the big hook waiting for me. Even when I leaned into a few swings, the RIPx just wouldn't hook.

I've had the Synergy Black in my bag for alomost 2 years because I've had a hard time finding a shaft that is as good feeling and has similar launch characteristics, but the RIPx is going in my bag right away.

I've had my Synergy Black for about as long, and I've been looking for something new...glad to see that the RIPx is similar while providing enough improvement to justify the switch. I have the original RIP Alpha in an old three wood which I absolutely loved.

Interesting testing. Has me a bit intrigued as I have both the PO and KK DC XT and hit them very well, but the drop in ball speed of the Kuro XD in this test has me feeling like my dual core may be lagging behind. However, with no access to testing these without buying, I may just have to accept it! Also shafts tend to be player dependent obviously, so perhaps my results would vary.

Take the testing with a grain of salt. 20 balls isn't a large enough sample size to really form a rock solid opinion on them and it's also a pretty happy coincidence that the two shafts they're trying to sell the most are number one and two in all their tests.

You are right, shaft fitting is player to player so your shafts may very well fit you better than a RIP X or a Rogue White but I would encourage you to go find a place where you can test them on your own.

That's going to be somewhat player dependant. Both are great shafts and if you are acheiving excellent results, either may be the ideal fit for you. As long as your launch numbers look ideal, chasing 1-2mph of ball speed sometimes varies from player to player. Obviously if cost doesn't matter and you just like to try things, go for it, but don't sell something that works for something that might.

Understand that products tested and posted are given the green light by clients of the test program for release of data. Companies pay for these results so accuracy is Paramount. Every player is given as needed warm up swings with each shaft before data collection has begun to get comfortable with the product. The testers are all professional testers of a high skill level, with the ability to adjust easily to changes in weight, feel and balance. Also if a player is ever particularly uncomfortable with a product, we will simply report as such, and give the client all details of his swing and style for feedback purposes, but that data would never make it into a published analysis.
