Look at these. I think Titleist might have hit it with these. Thank to Joe Kwok for the Pics. Joe says they are good. Thin toplines and less offset for Titleist. Also has a more compact head.

what's up w/the nasty looking numbers on the sole. granted these clubs are a more modern look, and i'm not a designer, but i can tell you those are fugly.

How do they compare to the 690 dot cb for blade length heel to toe,topline thickness ,toe shape ect.

you say thin topline ,less offset and more compact head but compared to what club. im guessing kinda like a 690cb compared to a 690 dot cb.

 

Any idea if the retail offerings will be different

I'm with you guys on the sole numbers. Being picky, I'm not sure I like the red paint either. They look soft, based on the number of small dings. I'll definately be trading my current 735CM's (chrome carbon) in on a set of these next spring. I've hit Pings that are softer than my 735's!

Through my eyes, This iron is more on the players set up.

 

Soft forging and solid feel. IMO it's a perfect grind on the sole w/ a some what narrow sole for a cavity back iron. Thin top line considering this is a cavity back. Rounder toe shape compare to the 735.

 

Long iron look a little smaller compare to the long iron 735CM.

 

They have a perfect off set IMO, Very moderate...toward almost to a ver minimal. I'm sure a Titleist HOs will be very happy when they saw this set on the market. :tongue:

These look real good, any idea if they are a progressive weighted set? or should they be mixed with some mb's????????????? :tongue: I will be callling my rep for those as soon as he gets budget dollars.

personally i like the numbers....kind of a classic throwback look. the red seems very simple and a nice accent for the clubs. it seems like titleist is doing that with more and more clubs. pretty sure the 775's have a little red in them as well. all in all a very nice iron, not a titleist ho myself but those irons are peaking my interest

I'm with you on those sole numbers. Pretty ugly and way too big. Best sole numbers are on Mizuno irons. Very modern and yet classic.

I am very excited to see this set from Titleist. Looks fantastic. THe old school numbers are sweet also for me. I hear you on the red numbers and allways prefer as little as possible in terms of graphics. The heads look great though, and after years of Titleist bring out thickish toplines and offsets that looked to much for my eye, these cavity backs look great. Congrads Titleist!!!

I'm not sure true or not but from the player who own this club, he told me that the rumor titleist going back to Japan to get this one done.

 

From the point of view of Profit Margin, i can't see how/why but from the point of view of Marketing, that could be a good moved from Titleist camp.

Sorry to say so - but still like the J33 CB and Mp-60 a LOT more.

 

Both design wise and (I bet) feel wise - Mizuno and Bridgestone are superior to anything Titleist at the moment, when it comes to forged carbon irons :tongue:

 

I'm a dedicated Titleist Ho, but when it comes to irons, Titleist is out of the game compared to Mizzie and Bridgestone.

these look great..cant wait for these things to come out..i was talking to the regional Titleist rep for nor cal..and he said that they have 3 new sets of irons..695cb, 659mb, the 735cb, the 905r, hes not sure about..and the F3 03, and the 503I, 503H, and the 503U are still in the works..but they did not pass the test as most pros disliked them..so they're goin back to the drawing board on them..and they're also coming out with oil can spin milled as well as some new scotty's..altho this wont be till early 2007..eat your heart out..cuz i no i cant wait!!

As far as I know F3.05 and 503i are not gonna come out for the public.

Wonder why Titleist decided to put these Forged cb's in the line up. 735cm in 2 versions and a smaller head (heel to toe) 695cb.

 

I was told the heads are smaller than normal.
