48 hours in Las Vegas this weekend

Looking for any golf related suggestions that I might be able to do while in Las Vegas this weekend (disclaimer - I'm not a gambler except when I lose my money on the course). Spending most of my time at my son's soccer tourney out at the Kellogg Zaher Soccer Complex near Summerlin but interested in seeing if there's anything I can do to scratch the golf itch. Thought about hitting Topgolf with some other golfing dads but it's fully booked up.

Shadow Creek. Although admittingly this weekend is prob a no-go. Mon-Thurs much better.

 

Wynn Golf Course. Brand-spankin new.

 

Cascata. In great shape.

Shadow is great but good luck getting a last minute tee time (especially on the weekend) unless you are a celebrity or a member of a top club. You also have to stay at an MGM property (even applies to celebrities). Best bet is to call the course itself and bypass the hotel concierge.

Under $200 given it's LV.

Don’t golf. It’s not worth it. None of the courses under $200 are worth your time and effort. Wolf Creek in Mesquite is probably the only “memorable” course but that’s an 1 hr 15 min drive away. Save your money or spend it on your kid.

I would play Reflection Bay or if you can get on, Southshore. Both great tracks. Not sure what this guy above me is talking about.

Now you guys have me curious. I've played Wolf Creek and loved it. What does shadow creek cost to play if you stay at the MGM? Do they offer discounted afternoon rates?

 

How does shadow compare to wolf for those of you who have played both? I've looked at the pictures, just wondering difficulty-wise and green speed-wise.

ok, looks like it's $500. It made the list of one website's pick of most overpriced golf courses in the country, haha.

...but it's vegas and a 25 course (public or private) course in America, so... is it $150 overpriced, probably, but consider that the Vegas water taxes!

Have a buddy who has played top end courses around the country (Torrey, pebble, sawgrass, bandon etc) and he claims shadow Creek is by far his favorite

Just wondering if its still $500? Last year after the Tiger/Phil match they adjusted the price to $650? Anybody play recently?

Pretty much did soccer stuff 100% of the time except for when i yelled "go sharks!" to the golden knight fans yesterday as I walked past them on the strip!

Sorry you didn’t get out. I played Southshore and Rio Secco this past weekend. They were some amazing courses. Hope you get a round in next time.

We did not. Played Thursday and Friday. The group was going to use GolfNow for a Sunday round but the weather made us reconsider. The wind was blowing 15 to 20 at Southshore on Thursday. I can't imagine how difficult it would have been on Sunday.

You considering the Paiute Resort courses too? I only played the Wolf but i felt it was worth the money.

Check out some punk rock at the Double Down Saloon. Say hi to Mello. Do shots of Ass Juice till the Rhino is poppin at 3AM.

 

... oh, GOLF in Vegas. Can ya tell I used to be a local? That was in my wilder, rock'n'roll days.

 

Honestly, golf in Vegas is stupidly expensive for marginal courses. The good ones are like Pebble Beach level greens fees. Though I did have some fun rounds at Angel Park. Rio Secco was a fun round as well - I didn't pay for it - but it's also been about 15 years since I played there.
