Matthew Fitzpatrick's custom Bettinardi putter - 2020 API

Loved my Yes! Tracy II...this definitely caught my eye. That putter wasn't the right 'fit' for me, but loved the roll it put on the ball and had the alignment on the top line of the putter, not in the cavity. I got rid of it in a rage of GolfWRX-ness and picked up another one somewhere along the way. Never was the same to me.

For those of us that were caught up in the Yes! madness, it was funny because there were so many subtle iterations with where the alignment line was to the finish that it was hard to find the exact same putter.

For the record, if Bettinardi is reading...I've owned a few Bettis and currently game a QB6. But I'd buy a Bettinardi Fitzy II (you can just send me some swag for that marketing moment LOL) in a heartbeat.

Nice work from Team B on making Matt a putter that he is happy with. For someone that has used the same putter for nearly 9 years, to finally switch to a new brand gives a lot of credit to Bettinardi.

Silly. For whatever he paid Bettinardi (assuming Bettinardi didn't do this for free - which is possible I guess), Fitzpatrick could have probably bought a truck of his old Yes!

Hard to find? I see literally like dozens of them sold on eBay. Yes, some of them are beat to s---, but I see plenty on there that are in good nick (as the Brits like to say).

According to Greg, Bettinardi have been trying to get him into one of their putters for a while. So MF's options are:

1) Spend time trawling ever-diminishing numbers of old Yes! putters on eBay and then go to the trouble of getting any putter he does buy refurbished.

Or:

2) Getting an established putter manufacturer to make him a custom one which is exactly what he wants, plus having the option of the Tour truck tweaking it as needed at any time.

It you have access to that kind of tour service, it's not really a difficult decision is it?

This putter really appeals to me. I had a Tracy back in 2002 or so and made a lot of putts with it. Something about the feel though never quite did work for me. I remember it as feeling very harsh. For the past couple of years I’ve been gaming a bettinardi and love the feel. Hasn’t necessarily translated into a lot of putts being made. Seeing this though, I hope they bring this to market so I could give it a try. C grooves with bettinardi feel. I’m in.

Hahaha way back I got a Dianna from a friend who was dumped by a girl of same name and I used it to sink a 35 footer on 18 to break 80 for the first time ever.

Best part was I beat said friend and took $10 off him. Can still hear him saying NOOOOO!

The yes putter was so popular for a while. Of course I bought one. I couldn’t putt worth squat with it. 
 

For some reason I thought the grooves produced a “grabbier” roll if that makes sense.  Maybe works ok on your greens but not on the slower poa greens I was playing on back then.
