Look, don't shoot the messenger. That is on Mark Immelman's website and the intro to his podcasts. Just going on what I read. I like leadbetter a lot also.

If Mark Immelman says he had something to do with his brother's win in 2008 I'm not going to dispute his word.

He was a college coach at the time and they are brothers, but Leadbetter was most overtly his "coach" and mentioned as such in pretty much all the reporting about his Masters win, subsequent injury and splitting from Leadbetter - they can certainly share in any credit in any way Trevor wants to attribute it. Mark used to have out there he is the "coach of 2008 Masters champion Trevor Immelman" which isn't at all the same thing as saying he was in 2008. But looks like he has a more recent blurb suggesting he helped him in 2008, so who knows what that means, but he never used to take credit for it.

Saying he is the Current coach of the 2008 Masters champion doesn’t mean he was his coach at that time. It’s just a way to add credibility to Mark’s marketing copy. There is a course in development on the west side of town here, ads say it is being designed by 18 time major winner Jack Nicklaus. Did Jack win 18 majors while designing this course?
