65% of retail? I’m confused

Why would anyone pay full retail for an item unless buying from a retail store? Come on guys. You know as well as I do that brand new items sell on eBay for much less than what it costs in the store. I’ve bought new clubs on eBay for 2/3 of the full retail price. That’s not unheard of at all.

The seller said “never used.” He bought them on the Facebook marketplace (from an individual, I assume). He now says they have light ship wear. How can he possible represent the item initially as never used and now as having light shop wear? Light shop wear means the item was sitting in the store and got moved around and shows some wear. That COULD be what happened, but hey, full disclosure, he has no idea because he didn’t buy this NEW from an authorized retailer.

Now I could be wrong because I admittedly don’t know how Facebook marketplace works, so please let me know and I’ll stand corrected.

Why does buying them from FB marketplace take away that they could still be never used? If dude was told the same, and he hadnt used them......"never used" would still apply imo. Then damn, factor in the price, and that others have chimed in saying their from the market SS looked the same..........what is the problem outside a finnicky buyer?

My 2 cents. Prior to feedback going away I was at about 150 or so.

Id deal with the seller here before Id deal with the buyer. This is 100% buyers remorse. I bought a set of Superspeed a year ago and honestly never even looked at the weights to see if they had scratches? Why? Because it doesnt matter lol.

To the guys saying "Gotcha" on the seller changing the description in the 2nd listing, he did the right thing. I would have done the exact same thing just to avoid the same situation. Could be new in plastic and I would have said light shop wear with some plastic coming off or something to that effect once I found out people are that petty.

I have some wedges new in plastic that I've been debating listing. I may have made a chipping motion with them a few times striking my carpet. Guess they are no longer new since the plastic isn't exactly how it looked once they left callaway.

To each their own though. I've been around here a long time. If you are that picky about condition, stay off here and ebay and stick to retail. Even then there is no guarantee

I’m sorry. I don’t care what the seller was told when he bought them. He can’t just bury his head in the sand, not open the box, and then turn around and pass along the possible “never used” misrepresentation to an unsuspecting buyer. If he didn’t buy them new from an authorized retailer, he has an obligation to open the box, inspect the item, and then make his own determination/description of what he has and what he is selling.

Seller sold new for 65% of new value and this is what he gets. This is why many great sellers on this site don't come back.

And before OP responds with "they were not new they had shop wear", it has been proven by other people on this thread that is how they come from the Manufacturer.

 

And for why the seller reposted with "shop wear" in the description. It's because he wants to be a good seller and not have this happen again. This is ridiculous.

LOL the ad had pictures of the open box, he didnt bury his head in the sand. Add that to the near half off price, all things considered the seller seemed to have handled it fine and represented it fine. Buyer is just one of those buyers lol.

Exactly, one of many reasons people are fleeing from the site and not bothering selling anymore.
