The reason Bryson is in front of Cameron is because he played the WGC Mexico event at 7,600 elevation where he averaged 355.6. Take that out and his average falls to 315.1. Same for Rory, his average falls from 320.2 down to 309.6 without that event.

Cameron on the other hand averages 319.8 without that event. Matt Wolff also didn't play it and still averages a very impressive 310.

Sergio only has two events recorded including that WGC one. His average would fall from 316.6 down to 298.6 without it.

This makes sense. Bryson is very long, but not Champ long. Same with Sergio.

JB Holmes came out and started on tour averaging 319. And he said he could never have an issue *carrying 330!

 

But, he went to a fade and dialed it back over the years.

 

It probably takes a couple of really bad out of control draws that go OB and ruin your chances to go to check you distance ego and go to that fade. But seems like most of the big hitters eventually go that route.

JB had a serious operation a few years into his career. They had to take a small piece of bone out at the base of the back of his neck or something. It was a tricky operation and fortunately they figured out what the problem was. Thank goodness it went well and did not wreck his golf game. Good guy.

I completely disagree. Camp is very much not as long as he could be due to inefficiency. Bryson is reaching for complete launch optimization while getting the same if not higher numbers than Champ. I mean, he has been hitting 205 plus ball speeds for petes sake!!

JB Holmes had a brain surgery to fix his vertigo, which got to the point it was debilitating. He also said that he had to re-learn his swing. I can't stand how damn slow he plays but it shows how ingrained a good golf swing is for the elite-of-the-elite players and props to him for coming back and winning several times after all that.

As far as who would consider him a top golfer, I would say the world.

He won the NCAA then proceeded to earn his card in 7 pro starts, which included a PGA Tour victory. That's pretty good stuff.
