Another hybrid thread ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am looking for insight for picking a 3/4 wood replacement hybrid.

I currently have a 18°  2016 Callaway Apex at  2° flat that’s a half inch over with an Aldila 2KXV Green 85X shaft tipped 1 inch and it flies a bit to high for my liking. I would be looking to get a lower lofted hybrid that would be primarily used off the tee and I’m seeking a lower flight. I currently carry a T-MB 2 iron and get a fair amount of distance from it, but I will omit it depending on weather/course and swap it with a 20°  3 hybrid which is an Adams super 9031 proto with a Modus 105 steel shaft, which gives me a nice flight. I don’t carry any fairway woods, due to dispersion not exceeding my driver. I may even be more consistent with my Driver than my past couple of 3 woods ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

I have an (original) idea pro at 18°, although it’s flight is better than the Apex, it’s not as long, but equal in dispersion......... two of the best hybrids I’ve ever played honestly as far as keeping me in the fairway goes.
I have an Adams XTD ti at 16° that I can move to 14.5°, but it’s about the same as my apex as far as flight (super high) and distance, but not as good for dispersion with identical ball speeds.

I tend to gravitate towards the smaller head hybrids and steer away from adjustable ones, but if the flight and spin is right, I’d consider it.

Any input is appreciated

I’m interested in hearing from those that play the TEE CBX119 or EXS pro, or the Adams 2014 Pro or Pro mini (which I read is much like the super 9031 that I currently play)

Maybe even a Callaway Super hybrid, being that they can be had for a lot less $$$$

I’m familiar with the New Apex and 2016 Apex and prefer the 2016 model. I've looked online for some Adams Super LS/LSP models, but no luck in finding anything below 18° ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Any suggestions and input on other not mentioned hybrids in to relation to the aforementioned Apex or Adams models is welcomed.

thank you!

If you’re looking for a 3 wood replacement the Super Hybrid has to be at the top of the list. They are almost too long for regular hybrid spots in the bag but as a 3 wood replacement they are a great choice.

Hard to find them in the lower lofts. The Super LS I assume, not the S

PXG Gen 2 17*, HZRDUS smoke black combo is pretty low launch/spin. 17* Callaway Super Hybrid previously mentioned is also a beast. Never tried the new Mizuno,  but it can be turned down to 14*.

TaylorMade BRNR Mini 13.5* Kai'li white- tx

This was going to be my suggestion as a cheaper experiment if you can find the 15* ones.  Personally I'm more of a fan of the 3wd than a lower lofted hybrid after my experiments.  But that was trying to fix a problem I didn't have.

What's In The Ping Moonlite:
Ping Rapture '14 13*
Ping Rapture DI 18*
Titleist 690.CB 4/6/8/PW
Vokey TVD 54*

Check on callaway preowned. I was just on there and they have a few 17* super hybrids available. Also they are 25% off so some of them were under $170 which is a great price considering how expensive they were just a couple of months ago.

I’m trying a Sub70 939X at the 4H spot and am looking at a Super Hybrid for the 20 degree spot, which for me is a 7 wood. I like the Super Hybrid at that loft because it looks more like a 7 wood than a 3H, only easier to control because the shaft is a bit shorter at 41.5 inches. I want the 4H to cover 195-200 yards and the Super for 210-215. The 7 wood I have (Cobra F9 with a Phenom shaft) is great but I hit it nearly as far as a 5 wood and need to fill in a yardage gap.

Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond 10.5 w/Diamana TB 60S

PXG GEN6 5 wood w/Diamana S-plus 70 stiff

Yamaha RMX VD 7 wood w/Diamana S-plus 70 stiff

Callaway Mavrik Pro hybrid (22) w/Aldila Tour Blue 85 stiff hybrid

Wilson Staff Model CB 5-G w/DG s300 shafts

Edel T grind 54 w/Nippon 125 wedge shaft

Fourteen RM-12 58 w/Dynamic Golds400

Axis1 Rose putter, 34 inches

Thanks. I did 2-3 days ago, and it propelled me to start this thread. I was seeking some other options..... most specifically the TEE CBX 119 or TEE EXS pro, but Callaway P.O is making it hard to pass up ?

The ts3 is a solid option here. Lowest loft is 19 but the forward CoG keeps flight down.

Clk could be interesting at 16 turned down. CoG is further back and it does spin a bit more than most other hybrids at the same loft. However, that spin really helps keep the lefts away.

An older option would be a TM r15 hybrid if you can find one in good shape.

Another option you may want to consider is going to a heavier shaft...something in the 100g X range. That could help keep flight down too.

G410 2 hybrid you could turn down to 15.5*.

My concern with more wood like hybrids like the CLK  are launch and spin. My Adams XTD TI is 16* turned down to 14.5* and is about the same height and length as my 2016 Apex due to the low CG.

im interested in sub 18* hybrids that are low launch/low spin.

I may pick up an Adams pro (2015) at 16* ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I like How my super 9031 launches and spins. I’m hoping the Pro will be similar. I know the pro mini is very similar to the 9031, but read the Pro was only marginally higher

Anyone hit the TEE CB PRO U hybrid from 2015? I found 1 review and it didn’t say much. Everything else is just product info from the manufacturer

the 2 promising reviews that comes up on google is from WRX, but it doesn’t open, instead goes to F9 fairway wood and the other can’t find archived ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
