Yep, my new (meaning fit for me) hybrids are much more versatile than my 4i and 5i (and I can still hit them plenty screaming low from the trees, lol).

I'm always in favor of playing smarter via better bag construction in pursuit of improving your scoring capabilities! It's very common to see your gaps start to compress as you move into your longer irons. If the gap between your 5h & 6i becomes an issue, you could try bending your 6i & 7i a little big stronger to help even out your gaps (e.g. 6i 1-2* stronger & 7i 0.5*-1.0* stronger). Depending on your swing speed, every 1* usually adds 2*-4* of carry. 

 

Yes; I was referring to raw shaft weight vs. swing weight (although the one obviously has an effect on the other). My comment was purely coming from a place of not knowing the specs of your driver, fairwood(s), & other hybrids are.

A contrarian post.  I agonized before taking my 3i out of my bag (even though really a 2i w jacked lofts). Something about a pured long iron where you can’t see the outcome until you make the long walk to the green makes me keep coming back.

The G410 5 hybrid is an amazing club. I really like leaning on this club for "get out of jail" shots, so much fun. I had to lay up to 160 for my approach shot over water, and nailed it. This is the best club I have ever played. I made the mistake of setting it up 1* open, and went right, fixed that real quick.  If you struggle with your 5 iron, check this club out.

I just replaced my 5 iron with a Tour Edge Exotics CBX iron wood and am not looking back.

 

It gives me the ease of hitting a hybrid but I can control the trajectory much better which is pretty critical here on the Texas coast as the wind blows almost constantly. 

 

The CBX ironwood is ridiculously easy to hit and a fantastically under rated golf club.

My wife plays the 2015 GBB 3 wood at 15*, 5 wood at 20* and divine nine at 24* and hits laser beams with them. 

 

If you can find used ones, they are great fairway wood options.

2nd Swing has a good selection of used 7 and 9 woods.

That's where I got my hybrid G410 5. I should have gotten the G410 5 wd while I was there.
