Diamana TB Series Shaft Reviews???

Recommended Posts

So I just got a Diamana TB 70 stiff put in a Sim Max 3-wood and LOVING it. I feel like I can really load and unload and feel a pop at impact. Helps to have a “mini driver” head that already goes a mile. The shaft is STOUT but I can swing it comfortably at any speed and it still feels great. Anyway, I wanted to gather thoughts on the shaft from anyone else who might have one.

Also, if you might have any q’s re: the shaft itself, let me know!

Any chance you've tested the TB vs the BF or ZF? Thx

Very similar feel to the BF, haven't tried the ZF. Both feel incredibly smooth from the downswing initiation to finish. I think it feels slightly more stable through impact, especially when I try to "go for it".

The ZF plays like a tighter BF or softer DF. Spin is lower than BF and roughly the same as DF. Flight is mid on ZF.

I've hit the TB 60tx in my Ping G410LST against my gamer ZF 60tx. I'm a pretty heavy loader and found that the TB feels slightly "looser" through the midsection which for me produced a much higher ball flight, but more dispersion. I probably could have mitigated this dispersion discrepancy by tipping the TB another 0.5-1.0", but haven't personally tested this yet.

For someone that’s got the Diamana BF working well in the driver, are the performance differences between BF vs TB enough to warrant the upgrade?

MCA says the TB is smoother feeling, higher launching and stiffer at the tip. How that all shakes out for you is tough to say without hitting the shafts head to head.

I have not found the right setting with the TB yet.  For now, my preference is to stay with the BF.  I have a 70s in my SIM 3 wood and 60s in my driver.  Definitely more stout and it launches is a very different window for me.

I agree with the stout and smooth. Like I said,  I have a 70s in a sim max 3w. I can swing as hard as I want and i haven’t seen the ball balloon yet and I can also swing easy and hit the shot I want. My swing speed is about 105-110 with the 3 wood.

Have you hit the DF at all?

I was fit into TB 70S for my driver. It’s so smooth, smoother than BF 70S which is no slouch in the smoothness department. It launched a fraction higher compared to BF. DF and I were not good dance partners so I can’t give an honest assessment of launch. Just when I thought I was set on Ventus Blue, the TB took the title. Smoother, more consistent strike pattern, better dispersion, more BS and more optimal spin/launch.

The TB 80S was amazing in my 3 wood too!

Anyone else compare the ZF to the TB?

I’ve played both but the ZF was a TX and the TB is an X tipped an 1”. I’d say that they are pretty similar but the TB is a bit smoother. I found the ZF to be very underrated and a great shaft for launch and dispersion. Like a bit tighter Bluebeard.

I’m playing the Ventus Blue in an X now and would say it is much tighter feeling then the blue. It feels more tip stiff and the dispersion is tighter for me. I found the spin and launch to be in a much better window for me with the Ventus Blue. Really can’t go wrong with either but I settled on the Ventus and haven’t looked back. My TB sits in my office staring at me. It’s a great looking shaft just was outgunned by the Ventus

So I ordered a 70x and was going to pop it into my SIM Ti 3 wood. But....the place I ordered from did not receive my message to cut it down to fairway length and tip it so when I got it it was driver length. Rather than just cutting it down myself, I decided to pick up a SIM driver head and see if the combo was any good. Yup, it was so good I sold the SIM driver head and bought a SIM2 driver head. It is a really great combo for me. For reference I have been a Tensei Pro White guy in driver, fairway and hybrid for a while and never loved the blueboard profile. This thing is really great. I read it has a softer butt than the BF or Tensei Pro Blue so maybe that is why I like it coming from the Tensei White. I am thinking of picking up another 70x for the fairway.

I don’t think the butt is softer than BF however the flow of energy from the handle down the shaft to the tip is just so silky smooth it could fool you into believing the butt is softer. The tip section is rock solid but not so firm it feels crisp.
