Just because you are being "creative" doesn't mean you have to put out ugly shoes.

I'd alter this a bit to, "Just because you are being creative doesnt mean you cant have a theme that matches what you are commemorating."

Big swing and miss here. I'm sure they'll put out a big story to go along with it and try to make the theme work.

it’ll be interesting to see the production date. I mentioned it in an earlier post, but cork would’ve made sense for the 150th open at St Andrews which would’ve been this year if not for COVID. Maybe they couldn’t shift in time.

Call me ignorant, but how does cork tie into St. Andrews?

I would think the 150th open at the home of golf would be worth celebrating but may just be me. (people who like to have fun, so not many people in this forum, sometimes celebrate with champagne that has a cork top 😉 )

Man, that is a stretch 😂. But, when he asked and before you answered I was going to joke that my wife and I did pop a cork when we received our email notifying us of winning the tee time lottery at St Andrews. Maybe you aren't that far off but I doubt it lol

Nike should have just stuck with their "Move to Zero" campaign for this release instead of trying to shoehorn some sort of weird dartboard analogy.  They used it for their other cork sneaker releases this year, so odd they needed to come up with a different reason to use it for golf.

Personally I found cork to be decent.  It's a lot more flexible and sturdy than what you might expect.  I used to have the Lebron 10 King Cork 8 years ago and wore them for basketball for about a year.  No fraying or chipping.  I will say they will crease easily.  Cork is supposed to be waterproof, but I have no idea how they'll hold up in wet conditions as I never wore my pair outside the gym.  No idea how they will hold up over many years, but sneakers these days are very much disposable.

Good to know. You mentioned creasing (which I'm fine with). Would that lead to torn edges? I can only think of the cork boards my kids have in their rooms to hang up artwork. The cork on those tears pretty easy, but these are probably a different, more robust material.

I had the infrared cork 90s which I liked but the material was a touch too stiff.

The cork Lebrons are one of the best designs in his lineup imo. You on Nike talk?
