Ts2 vs. Tsi2

I think there is already a thread on this somewhere, but I believe the two are not too similar so getting them dialed in in a fitting then comparing may be best.  Personally, I like the TSi2 better in the looks and sound department and if you went straight OTR, I would expect the TSi2 to be a little lower spin due to the ATI face, but I could be wrong.  I have never played the TS2 for any long period of time so I can not speak to it in great detail but the TSi2 (fit to me) is one of the longest drivers I have ever hit.

I see you're playing the tsi2 3w as well.  Any chance you can compare the launch characteristics with the ts2?

I dont know if this will help, I never liked the look and shape of the TS2 driver, I did play the TS2 fairway wood though.

For the driver I played the TS3 and naturally thought the progression would be to the TSi3, which I purchased and play all of 4 rounds with (typically I get fit but with the pandemic I didnt and bought site unseen/unplayed). What I didnt like about the TSi3 was the way the toe looked flared, I struggled mentally while playing with it. I didnt hit it bad but in my mind I always thought I had to turn my hands over to square it up, I tried adjusting the setting to make it look more square but didnt help.

So I went down to the local shop and hit them both with my GD AD DI shaft in and was very surprised to see that my numbers we better with the TSi2 than the TSi3. I visually liked the look of the head, it is different than the TS2 and more like the TS3, to IMHO. I already had the TSi2 3 wood and love it, so to my surprise I have the TSi2 which I played with this weekend and hit some really great drives with it. For me it inspires confidence, it is not hook biased as I play it upright and hit a fairly straight ball with maybe slight fade. Moral of the story, you need to go hit it and see what you like, I love it and you may too but I suggest to hit it. The spin was about the same between the TSi2 and TSi3 for me but accuracy was way better with the TSi2 for me.

Hope this helps

I tested a TSi3 against my fitted TS3  (112 avg SS) and the new club has slightly lower spin and launch. By the time they finished tweaking loft and the shaft to get optimal trajectory, the TSi only showed an improvement of 3-4 yards - certainly not enough to warrant me springing for the upgrade.

As already said, the sound is better and I prefer the TSi at address, but I already like looking down at the TS3 crown and sound isn't as much of a factor for a club I hit 3-5 times per round.

I'd test it yourself and see if your speed, AOA and club delivery produces more drastic results.

Ya what would you pay for 5 more yards.

At one of my regular courses, there are some doglegs that I am so borderline being able to carry, that an extra 4-5 yards would really give some added scoring opportunities.  For sure I'll be checking the Classifieds once the snow melts.

I can't ... yet.  I did game the TS2 fairway and it was good but I got about the same numbers from the 917f2 so I went with that instead.  Will get the TSi2 fww out later this week for a few rounds in Palm Springs and I will report back.

I found a deal on a used one so it is otw I will post results. I love the ts2 and it is the most accurate driver ive hit but its just too short on good strikes. Ive tried several shafts to no avail. Hopefully this tsi2 will be just as accurate and maybe a tad longer for me.

How's the tsi2 been so far?
