Hogan Swing Puzzle Pieces

This is my favorite photo of Hogan, that ball looks like it's about to get some serious compression and you can just see the energy and power moving through the body.

I was only thinking about this photo the other day. I remember seeing it in a Golf World (I think?) article when I was younger and thinking that it must be some kind of voodoo that I couldn't appreciate.

He was an old man here.  I believe this was from the film that they took at Riviera in '86 as part of the advertising campaign for the release of the new Hogan equipment, so he was in his 70's:

Has the new information come to light yet?

Where have you come across discussion of Ben Hogan’s swing by credible sources when not expecting to? For me it has been the journalists of his time. Some got quite close to him.

There is a discovery coming soon that will add a lot to the missing puzzle pieces. From an estate.

It may have been but is also in a book Complete Book of Golf by Steven Carr. And they are shots from the commercial as you probably know.

What a golden opportunity for you

To study under someone of his caliper. While exploring neurology which focuses on nerves I encountered an interesting fact.  If you accidentally cut your little toe, white blood cells are at the cut site almost instantaneously long before the sensor signal gets to the spinal cord and up to the brain to let you know you were just cut  Trying to figure that quandary out led me to the concept of bio fields, and torus fields, aka morphogenic fields  The morphogenic field holds super power.  So I figured out how to apply concepts of quantum entanglement to the golf swing.  I did a short post a month ago but no response.  I laughed when I realized that every reader more than likely said "quantum what?" (with the what having a crescendo to a high pitch)

Spoiler

Here is an example of how to use a person's field to evaluate their swing.  Trust me.  It will be spooky.  Einstein called quantum entanglement "Spooky Science" but he still called it science.  I also realize that radically new ideas are readily dismissed but here it goes.  After evaluating P G A swings only a few maintain their connections.  Ben Hogan of course.   But he loses his field with putting.  Jack Nickalus maintains it while putting, collapses on full swing.  Moe Norman is the only golfer I found who maintains both in full swing and putting.  Currently the only P G A player, who maintains his field during his swing, is Bryson. But it collapses while putting.  With the LPGA, the only golfer to .maintain her field was Mickey Wright both putting and swinging.  Perhaps these observations explain their career successes.  I am trying to get a scientist, who is interested in golf, to pursue my discovery of applications.   But he is having difficulty understanding.  We all have been taught in school to follow linear lines of thinking, Newtonian physics, and cartisean analysis.  So when it comes to non linear thinking we don't have much practical experiences.  But the fact that the community does not see it (it is easy to see if I tell you where to look") is not evidence of lack.  E=Mc2 has brought about many changes.  I believe it can also bring changes to golf, but only time will tell.  I encourage those who are Interested, tk get a basic understanding of the concepts and then think of ways too apply them to golf.  For one thing it is a lot of fun.   How often can you read  "keep your lead arm straight"?  How about "I figured out a way to intensify my field and now my lead arm naturally and easily stays straight and the ball launches like a Spaced rocket."  Now that would be really cool.

I have so far identified 2 .specific things Hogan did to intensify his field.  I make sure I do them in my swing.

Alan,

BTW - Gerry also  thought Ben Hogan was a very intelligent man. He figured out how to perform it , but we don’t know if he knew the genetics involved . Gerry figured that out .
Gerry is a man with an extremely high IQ whose brilliance might have been much more useful in the Medical Field , but his love for the game and his burning desire to QUESTION led him on his life long quest for the FACTS and TRUTHS. He NEVER was STILL is - ——-

Not interested in THEORY OR OPINION .His mind works different than most . Everything to him is THEORY and / or OPINION unless and until he can prove it to be - FACTUAL . He doesn’t care how long it takes him to solve it . He spent his life doing that .
He spent 12 days as my house guest here in Ga .and 5 days on another occasion. He brought in his friend and 70 times international winner , Bruce Devlin , with him to assist him and me with clinics.  My exceptionally wonderful friend and great Man ,  Bruce Devlin , spent more time with Ben Hogan and he has shared a few nuggets with me about the great player . Ben Hogan spent several years in the Army - off the tour and a year or so off after his accident . And won FOUR US OPENS while driving across the US in a car ????

     WOW !

I’ll excuse the thread hijacking with the other Hogan if you share the Bruce Devlin Ben Hogan nuggets. I have a couple of long letters from Gerry back in the 90’s.

FYI,

I am a life long fan of Mr. Ben Hogan and I would never critics him ! However, I do question this - how could any player truly explain what he was actually doing during a 2/10 second downswing when what he or she felt had ALREADY occurred before the brain received the message ?

Just asking !

Lane

Question if you don't mind. Did you read "Afternoons with Mr. Hogan" by Jody Vasquez? If you did what is your opinion on what Mr. Vasquez said about Hogan's lesson he gave him about the right leg etc.?

Thanks

Most magicians leave little clue' s as to how they performed the effect

Especially with high speed cameras and slow motion playback.  Logan's secret has under gone much such analysis.  No reveal is forth coming.  Perhaps because his secret operates between his ears.  He alludes to my observation on the Father Murphy film. 70 % of his swing is between his ears

I get notified when there is a response. Easily, you can do it with your feet, you can do it with your hips, your stomach, your lats, your shoulders, your elbows. You pinch TGM terms but don’t understand the alternatives to hands controlled pivot. You get a much better radius with passive hands and forearms than active. Pretty basic stuff.
As for me not having a clue, I’ve posted my swing, where’s yours? You talk a big game. Let’s see it. If you think Hogan is simple you don’t understand the man, less his swing.

Link to where you posted your swing?

Thank you 👍🏻

Cameras can't show us what's happening internally with forces and pressure.
