Stretching doesn’t involve resoling.  Your local shoe cobbler can stretch them.   I got a quote from LaRossa in early 2021 to resole some classics and it was $240.  That doesn’t include shipping to/from.

@Kerry110521 resoling cost will depend on the model of shoe you are replacing .   Definitely not cheap and yes LaRossa does a great job.    Personally I wouldn’t pay that much unless the uppers are something special like lizard or gator.

The reason for banning metal spikes was not to preserve greens, it was to preserve clubhouse floors. This method achieves the goal.

 

I like the way you think 🙂  I have an agreement with a super at a certain course to wear the nails, I have NEVER slipped, soft spikes SUCK...I slip every time I wear them.

I have been using mink oil on the soles of my playing sets, but I read on this forum that is not a good idea.  The brochure states Mars oil, but I can’t seem to find that anywhere.  Suggestions?

A very lucky grab on eBay. They were up for an hour or so (along with some incredible other Classics in A/AA width).  I’m a long time reader of the thread but posted the pics in order to ask some questions of a few posters here and have really appreciated the education.  Love seeing all the collections/finds.  I need to start wearing a few…

Anyone have any ideas on how to get a stubborn metal spike out of a pair of Classics…it on the heel and I’ve bent two tools trying to remove it.  Spike itself is still fine.
