New Driver Time - Ping 425 Max (10.5) and Titliest TSi2 (10)

I was the opposite, although I hit the TSi3 not the 2.  Titleist was longer, better ball speed, lower spin and straighter.  The sound and feel were dramatically better, although the Ping was fine.  Could definitely play it.  Love Ping drivers.  Very happy with the TSi3.  Looks nice too.  Coming from a G400 which I had for around 3 years.

Have 3 grams of hot melt installed in the rear sole of the club and buy a 23 gram weight for it.  Will sound much better, perform the same and swingweight will be the same.  Will cost you between $40 and $50.  If you know somebody who works at a machine shop they can easily remove 3 grams of weight from you existing weight and that will save you $20.

I just bought a new driver snd had completely different results...wanted the Cobra Rad Speed or Ping G425...thr Tsi2 was way better...and the shocker was that the Hazrdus smoke black RDX gave me best results.

They are all good... go.with what gives you confidence.

I was not a fan of a counter balanced shaft - I just couldn’t feel the head of the club - I am going from a Taylor R580 so ANYTHING will be better!

Did you try a few different shafts in the TSi? If you can find a shaft that works for you, I can promise you’ll like the solid feel/sound. My son has the SIM2 and even when you hit it solid it has a kinda dead dull thud sound (for lack of a better explanation. haha) like it wasn’t caught solid. It performs, just not a pleasing sound to me like when you catch the Titleist solidly.

I’ve been gaming the TSi2 which I bought from someone here with the Tensi blue shaft and it’s been great for me. I’ve been battling the hooks lately but when I hit it the way I want it’s either super straight or a slight draw. I upgraded from a 910D2 and it’s so much more forgiving and I’ve increased my distance probably 15-35 yards on average just because I get roll out when it hits the fairway and doesn’t balloon for me. Funny part is I don’t even hear the club at impact. I was talking to my primary golfing partner that I literally don’t even hear the impact while the 910 I heard easily. Granted the 910 had a very loud distinct sounds that wasn’t enjoyable.

I own both of these drivers. I think performance wise they are similar. I do like the sound and feel of the TSI2 better. I think the Titleist has a very slight edge in performance and also has way more adjustability. I have the Ping Tour shaft stiff in my G425 Max.

I also reduced the rear weight in the Ping and added hot melt back to D3 swingweight. It made it a wee bit quieter, but not a lot.

Dumb question. Was the test inside or outside? I was fitted in a bay and the G425 sounded harsh, so he told me to step outside and take a rip and sure enough it didn't sound as bad. Also, with the performance I was getting with it, I can get over the sound

I just got fitted And the 425 LST won out, but the TSi2 was a very close second. Could have gone either way, but the shape of the Titleist bugged me a bit

Both with the Devotion 6/04.

Ping inbound.

I've hit both in comparison on the range a few times. I would sell off the Ping and keep the TSI2. For me the adjustability, feel and performance are slightly better. I have it with the RDX 6.0 stock shaft. I have a Ventus Velocore red coming in today to see if that helps me be a bit more consistent with this driver. The RDX is very light.

I tested them outside at a range, tried multiple shafts with each.  THe Ping 425 Max with the TOur 65 (R) was the best feeling, best performing and most accurate.
