Titleist TSi2

Looking to get a 9.0 Titleist TSi2 driver.  I have a Ventus red 70 gram shaft that I will be putting in it.  
 

my question is would the weight that comes in a head that is in a 60 gram shaft be the same or if u custom ordered a 70 gram shaft it would be different?

If you order direct through the Titleist website you can specify which weight you want in it. If you don’t specify wanting something different they’ll use the standard weight.

I ordered direct from Titleist and specified the +2 weight.

Correct. That’s why I ordered direct from Titleist because you could easily specify. I’m sure other stores can request the different weights but it was really easy on the Titleist website.

If not specified, the weight installed will be based upon the length of the shaft.  Example - if you order 45" length, Titleist will install the +2 weight for SW purposes unless you specify otherwise.

If you tell them what swingweight you want, they will put whatever weight in the head that matches what you asked for. Shaft length affects swingweight probably more than shaft weight so they would take that into account as well. If you are looking to pick up just a head from someone then you can order aftermarket weights from various places on the internet. If you order an OEM Titleist weight from a golf shop, they are ridiculously over-priced. Like the way they price them you would think that they were made out of gold. The aftermarket ones should be $12-15. If you want an OEM weight they are like $30-40 which is insane.

Does the TSi2 launch higher than the TSi3?

Standard swing weight for tsi2 driver is D2-D3 unless you specify you want something else. They will use hotmelt and  the +/- weights and your shaft length to hit that D2-3.

I have played the TS3 in 10 degree so if switching to TSi2 do I stay the same degree or move down to 9 degree? 
 

I thought I read that the TSi2 launches higher.

I can only speak from a few swings of each at demo days. But with same shaft and same loft, TSi-2 launched appreciably higher.

I spent an hour and a half getting fitted for a TSi driver. With the same shafts (we tried a few), I found the TSi2 to launch higher and spin more than the TSi3 in the same lofts. Nothing too crazy - not like the difference between the TS2 and TS3 - but noticeable and worth optimising. I can't remember launch and peak height figures but the TSi3 was about 500rpm less than the TSi2.

I have a tsi2.with Smoke black rdx 6.0 and hit the tsi3 with nearly the same launch...but my dispersion was much tighter with thr Tsi2...enough so that I checked my ego and bought the Tsi2 instead of of 3.

 

I am very happy with the on course performance.   I am way more consistent off the tee and I am able to eliminate the whole left side of the course as I REALLY have to work to make this thing turn left.
