Is there any dress code at all on this tour, or can they wear just about anything?

A couple years ago I think the tour supposedly issued some “guidelines” on golf clothes.  I think gym shorts and racer back tops were some items  highlighted as inappropriate.  The former was (maybe?) directed at Jaye Marie Greene and the latter at Michelle Wie (not yet West).

Not a good look.  They shouldn't do that

I was at Sahalee....a very prestigious private club in Seattle, for the 2016 KPMG....Wie was on the range in yoga pants....all these guys gawking at her...BJ standing beside her.

IMO...the gals don't show enough respect to the private clubs that OPEN their doors to them.

Yeah, there is a pretty big thread on it and I thought it said shirts had to have collars also. Anna N falls into this category as well

Guidelines still not stringent enough.

Trying showing up tomorrow at your club tomorrow in a skort that is 12-14" above your knees (common on the LPGA) and see if you get access to the 1st tee....I think not.

At the prestigious clubs here.....I can't play with my shirt untucked...nor would I do so and embarrass the member who invited me.

I'm in favor of an actual dress code.  As in you have to follow the code, or be fined.  Not just "guidelines"

I just look at it as a respect issue as said above these exclusive private clubs are opening their doors to you to showcase and grow your game. Not just that but you are a professional, act like it, dress like it and speak like it.

I wonder if the LPGA is afraid of the whole cancel culture movement if they enforce it. IMO, it’s a larger issue in society as well. Yoga pants aren’t shouldn’t be work attire. Heck casual Fridays used to be a stretch to wear jeans.

It actually ends up being where they are promoting "cancelling" classic country club conduct and attire

I think the thing holding Crazy Lucy Li back is she still looks small...therefore lack of distance.

I appreciate Lucy doesn't have a coach and doing a Hogan......finding it out in the dirt.

I question how reliable that swing can be.  The arm swing is way too far inside and 'behind' her

The sad thing is that if you and your female friends showed up at your local premier private club wearing short shorts. short skirts, and yoga pants like what the LPGA pros wear on a week in and week out basis....someone in the pro shop would stop you from teeing off unless you bought some APPROPRIATE clothes in the pro shop to abide by the club's dress code.

I love the sweet tears of the stodgy old golfers club.   I don’t care what people wear as long as you keep up the pace, fix ball marks, and don’t do stupid crap to the golf course.  There are many drunk, 20 ‘cappers playing from the back tee a-holes that I can do without.  Miniskirts, tank tops, and hoodies don’t bother me.

My course has a qualifier for amateurs to earn a spot in the  Portland tournament. Lucy played in 2 years ago and I watched her play a little in practice rounds and the tourney. It’s not an overly long course and an average distance can compete easily. She is the Asian Morgan Pressel. IMO, she’s not long enough to compete on your today. She can be competitive and have a decent career and maybe catch lightning in a bottle once or twice but looking at the distances combined with the accuracy of many of the other ladies I just don’t see it.

Is it just me that thinks Lucy is going full send on every shot, or is her swing just that aggressive looking?

What makes you think we are stodgy old golfers? Because we expect someone to dress the part?

Some of these swings amaze me. I feel like there are more technically correct swings than on the PGA. Literally 75% of these swings are swings any instruct would be happy for their students to copy. Add in tempo and I don’t get how more amateurs don’t watch and learn from them

TV doesn't do the gals justice...one needs to attend a tournament to see the timing and tempo of these gals...many who are small....who can smash their FW's and 5 irons high on a rope.

You should know....I think you've been to watch the gals play at Columbia Edgewater.

I've been to the Portland event 5 times...it was AMAZING when Safeway was the sponsor.

Parking right beside the course...so many hotels near course.

And the best thing is the Sextant bar on the river and right by the course where many loops and some pros would hang out.

I saw Webb slumming it there on Sunday night along with Sarah Kemp....same with Sophie G the night before she announced her retirement.

Never cared for the Ghost course at Pumpkin....and Hillsboro was boring.

Lauren Kim needs a new putter.

I think Jaye Marie Green uses a similar SLEDGE HAMMER.

In my books...if I see a pro using a putter like that...they are struggling with their stroke.

Though Jake won the Masters in 1986 with a similar huge shovel putter...he went into the event struggling with the flat stick.

I’ve enjoyed the LPGA for awhile but what really won me over was going to the ANA a couple years ago. Took my son who was 4 at the time. Couldn’t walk the course to much because he is a loud little booger. 1st day we were there he found out he could get autographs and so many of the ladies could not have been nicer. Heck Jessica even stopped a photo shoot/interview to come over and talk to him. Some even were shocked/surprised. Then the final day we sat behind 18 where they walk off because if he made an outburst they couldn’t hear us. He got about 7 or 8 signed golf balls that day, didn’t ask for one the ladies just stopped and gave them to him. He’s a fan for life.
