My favorite was/is Faldo.  He was a machine, and I don’t think gets enough credit for his tee to green game.   Also, everyone mentions Snead or Els, but how can anyone have better tempo than Faldo??

 

Had and I been around, I’m sure it would have been Nicklaus or Palmer.

 

Daly- sometimes I hate to admit it, but he had a lot to do with my interest in the game.

 

Loved watching Price and Olazabal as well.

I have an affinity for some of the characters who managed to win with less than stellar appearing fundamentals or manners.   Calvin Peete was already mentioned.  Add Ed Fiori, Ky Laffoon, Fulton Allen, Bobby Locke and Allen Doyle.

Tom Watson, too.  I wanted to swing like him, I wanted to be that self-controlled on the course.  I've failed miserably LOL.

Arnold Palmer (a superhero)

Tiger (the most gifted ever)

 

These guys have been the ultimate magnet on tournaments.
