Your Favourite Tour Player of All Time and Why?

My favourite golfer of all time has to go to John Daly.

4 marriages, 4 divorces, multiple children, a failed suicide attempt, gambling addiction, diet struggles, health issues, money issues the list goes on YET he is still at the elite level competing against the best in the game week in week out (Albeit on the Champions Tour). I love how colorful he is and how much positivity he has.
 

He's one of a kind, an absolute beauty!

Keen to know what everyone else's favourite golfer of all time is and why?

Sam!! He had the greatest swing of all time, and he basically Played the same swing for his whole career, and as great as he was, no one will top his longevity as from the age of 60 thru 62, Sam had three consecutive top-10's, a T4, T9 and incredibly, a T3 at SIXTY TWO YEARS OLD in the PGA Championship, the most competitive major in the game. Plus, his brother, Pete, was the father that I never had and Sam was like an uncle to me, sweet as could be and though his jokes used to put off Mr. Hogan and Nelson, he was hilarious, and he always would greet me with that smile, a hug and "hey lil gal," haha. Even though he battled the yips from his mid-30's on, there will never be another Sam Snead!😊M

Tommy gainey he is just normal guy with a unique swing and method. He is also very appreciative of everything that has happened to him.

When my wife and I moved in together, she brought along her record collection:  Grease Soundtrack, Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack, Bat Out of Hell, and Air Supply's Greatest Hits.  We got the Air Supply album autographed by the two of them a few years ago.

Tom Watson.....no explanation needed except was always a huge fan and then got to be friends with his caddie Bruce Edwards when I lived in Dallas in the 80's

 

second favorite TAIII....because he and his brother Sandy taught me how to play the game of golf, allowed me to caddie for them off and on for 20 + years, and introduced me to many people inside the ropes including Hank Haney, and they have  remained my good friends all these years

The guy on the right! Been a huge fan since I was probably around 11-12 and he was just about to take off (again) around 1970/1971.

 

(Loved the exploits of the guy on the left when he was the hottest guy on the planet, then as a broadcaster but really remember his last win at Pebble was so much fun to watch)!

Besides TW, I always like the guys from the early/mid-2000s.

 

Phil, Ernie, VJ, AS, Sergio, Westwood, Poulter, Harrington. 
 

Even the “b list”, Appleby, Lumpy, that was cool when Kenny Perry got hot. 
 

I root for anybody who wins. Golf is a tough business to come out on top after 4 days against 125+ guys.

Seve was my fav golfer growing up, but Floyd and Kite were probably my two fav american golfers during my formative years ...

Whenever someone asks me who my favourite golfer is, I always say the same thing - Tiger. That said, Tiger is a special case, I am not sure how any golfer my age could not view the guy as an absolute hero! He has done it all and more then gone back and done it again. For me, he is in a class of his own and transcends the game so much that it almost feels like a cop out picking him.

 

So if I were to put him aside - Adam Scott has always been my guy. When he came on the scene he was a Titleist guy (and obviously still is aside from the hat), my Titleist obsession was just starting. He was young, he was successful , he hit it far and when I was 15, I wanted to be him. That he handled himself with grace and humility is an added bonus. One of the coolest tournaments I have ever been at was the Scottish PGA in 2002. Scotty won by about ten shots and seeing him doing that for four days solid is a memory that I will cherish.

Seems odd that they passed over him, especially bearing in mind he had a great playing record in the RC.
