Ball speed 96.1

Carry: 127 yards

launch angle: 17.4

efficency: 1.31

Spin 6199

I also just noticed that my peak height is 15 yards. Somethings off.

I talked with support and he installed a driver that was older than the one installed on my gc3. We got it a little better, but 15 yards peak height is ridiculous for an 8 iron.

I plugged in the numbers to flightscope trajectory optimizer and got 124y carry, 55ft peak height.  That’s with 0° horizontal launch and 0° spin axis at sea level.

Do you think the ball speed number is low? Efficiency looks about right for an 8 iron.  Launch is maybe a bit low for that swing speed.  What is your spin axis? What is your driver swing speed?

My spin axis was 1 degree left on that shot. I usually have a high ball flight as well.

I haven’t measured my driver swing speed in a while. I would guess it’s somewhere in the 105 to 110 mph range. I’m typically carry somewhere between 240 and 260 depending on how well my contact is.

I tried multiple things last night. Different balls, different mats, several different lighting setups. None of the changes made any difference.

I really appreciate your help. I’m going to call support again today. I’m a little frustrated at this point to drop nearly $10k (20 courses) on a device that is so inaccurate. I’m not sure if I got a lemon or not, but if I would have known I was going to have these kinds of issues, I would have went in another direction.

I play 4 or 5 days a week. When not playing, I’m on the range. I’m fairly confident of my yardages on the course with  many forced carries.

I had the same thoughts as above after checking the optimizer app.

Different launch monitor so it may not be directly applicable, but I usually see the same carry distance with more runout and lower spin if I thin the strike with mid/short irons on Mevo+. The main data table indicator is that smash goes up higher than I'd reasonably see with that club - something like 1.35 with 9i (vs 1.19-1.21).

Do you have impact tape or talc? Maybe it's an indoor swing thing.

I thought about that too and discussed it with support yesterday. He had me hit driver to get some distance readings. I was coming out of my shoes to register 150 yards.

while my monitor is new, I’ve had this set up minus the LM for about 4 months now. I’m comfortable swinging in my garage. It has 12 foot ceilings so I’m good there.

Ya that’s awfully low for that driver swing speed.  I find my GC3 very accurate and trust the yardages 100% when I’m on the course.  Might be a dud.  Is the GC3 on the same level as the ball? Is your barometer on?  What does the barometer reading say?  Are you just using the device without FSX2020 or is it reading the same in both?  Sorry for a bunch of questions…I know it is frustrating spending that much money and not having functionality right out of the box but foresight has been very helpful with the issues I’ve had.

I did turn the barometer off as I had read that there were possible issues with it. I’m not sure if that is what fixed my issue or not though

When you turn it on what does it read?  I remember someone saying their unit was reading well below sea level causing really short carry numbers.

I’m setting up my new GC3 and see some strange numbers.

I’m hitting an easy 8 iron and the monitor says that it’s only going 100 yards. That should be about 140 ish for me. Any ideas?

Carry of 124 isn’t 100 yards.

Is the barometer on? What’s your elevation? The default elevation is sea level. That will account for some distance loss.

Indoor swing syndrome will also account for further distance loss.

Also make sure the unit is on the same level as the hitting surface. 👍

What is the consensus on a reasonably priced gaming computer that can efficiently run this software?  I know the specs that are required according to Bushnell but if there are upgraded specs that are worthwhile this would be the time to make the investment.  Any suggestions / purchase links for a good PC would be really appreciated.

Also, my enclosure will have a width of 11' and it was recommended that I use a 4:3 aspect ratio but apparently it is not going to fill the screen.  I was told that there may be a way to adjust the settings on the PC to make it fit but I'm assuming this could cause a bit more stress on the game card.  Has anyone done this kind of adjustment to make the picture fit on their custom enclosure?

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m fairly certain my issues were with the barometer. Once I turned it off and add my altitude manually, things have been peachy.

I depends on what software you intend to run.  FSX 2020 runs fine on a 1060 and higher card and someone was running it on a 960 as well.  If you don’t run 4k and you intend to run FSX Play in the future I’d say a 2060 or 3060 will work.  I have a 3060 and I’m looking to upgrade because it stutters in 4k on the new software.

Does that supposed to matter? My local shop has it 6 inches above ground

It does, you can have it slightly above the hitting surface and be ok but if it's below the hitting surface any significant amount it causes problems and I seriously doubt it will read correctly with it 6 inches above the ground.

The GC3 currently on sale, now $5999.

I am guessing they ramped production...it was too slow to roll out..and now demand has cooled with leisure travel commencing, inflation, stock market down, etc

everything related to golf is getting discounted. and I agree with you on the mass production.

Wow. $1500 off. Now that is a sale - but no software included.
