Another reason to pick the Rams?  I like to travel to places I have never been.

Cincy's #1 attraction is the zoo.  Because every city in the US doesn't have a freakin zoo.  LA has Universal Studios (which we didn't do), but LA also has The Whisky a go go, the Troubadour, the Rainbow Bar and Grille, and the Viper Room.  Give me the bar where the Doors were the house band, Jane's Addiction played them, Van Halen, CSN, and the RHCP, Lemmy and Mickey Dolenz hang/hung (RIP Lemmy)  at the Rainbow, and then the Viper Room which we didn't go into, but presumably it is trendy.

So many reasons beyond step-sister porn to pick the Rams.

You can keep Diamond Dave and heart throb poet Jim Morrison I will head on down to Goodfellas pizzaria near WKRP in Cinncinnati with these two by my side

When I moved to western MT, I was immediately invited to a Griz Football game and made the drive into town to see a game.  I went to the game, and asked what I thought of the game.  Well, not realizing the pride in the UM Grizzly football team I remarked, "They look like high school kids... but faster."  That wasn't really a great start to my time as a western MT guy.  The Griz would go on to win the FCS championship a few years later, and then lose the next year to a team led by Randy Moss and Chad Pennington.  Anyway, where did my idea come from.

Well, I am a PGH guy.  I grew up watching kids like John Frank, so many went onto D1 and NFL careers.  Here is a story about the hometown.  "Frank played on the same high school team as five [Pitt] Panthers: the linebacker Caesar Aldisart, the middle guard Bob Schilken, the quarterback Chris Jelic, the guard John Rees and the defensive back John Hart. In his final high school all-star-game appearance, Frank caught a touchdown pass from Tom Flynn, then a quarterback and now Pitt's all-America safety."  These were the kids I would go watch play football in my hometown, in my neighborhood for a couple of them, and then we would see Dan Marino, and who knows who else.

Well, the Griz operate in the Big Sky Conference of the FCS division, and Cooper Kupp came out of the league from EWU.  I hope he does well, just another reason to root for the Rams.

Did I mention Aaron Donald and Tee Higgins also operated in the WPIAL, or Western PA Interscholastic Athletic League, so I guess its a push.  But I still stand behind the fact FCS looks like high school but faster, Scott Gragg excluded.

Now if it were these Rams then I would be backing them for the big game this Sunday.

I have nothing against Stafford and admire him for staying so long with the Lions and not demanding a trade out. He gave his all for Detroit during the 12 dreary winters he inhabited the Mitten. It is true that when I started being a NFL fan in 1970 I was all about the team in Honolulu blue and silver(official name of of the teams shade of blue). The Lions were the first team I was passionate about back when I was a tyke. My father took me to two Lions games at the old Tiger Stadium and I also watched many games on television. I had a Lions #20 jersey and a kid sized helmet that I cherished greatly. My favorite Lions players were Greg Landry our QB and Lem Barney a Lions DB and punt returner. My family pulled up stakes in 1975 and we left the Great Lake State and landed on the banks of the Mississippi river. A change happened, my blue turned to red.

GO BIG RED.

During my high school years one of my buddies on our street in St. Louis county was John J. His father was a regional sales guy for Ford Motor Company. Mr. J. represented all the Ford dealerships in the eastern part of Missouri and over into southern Illinois. He had tickets a plenty to all Cardinal baseball and football games. The thee of us together saw 2 or 3 NFL Cardinal games each fall and a dozen MLB Cardinal games during the spring and summer. Mr. J. had us leave our seats a few times during each game and we would go upstairs to hang with his coworkers in the Ford Company sky box. I remember that sky box having the best food because it was not the average junk prepared in a stadium kitchen, instead they had the food always catered in by one of downtown STL's more popular restaurants. For years I saw the great Cardinals play live (Jim Hart, Terry Metcalf, Roger Wehrli, Roy Green, Jackie Smith, and Dan Dierdorf). I so remember the rush I experienced as a teenager when watching in person my favorite Cardinal Terry Metcalf (RB) shred defenses. I was mighty fortunate to get to attend so many games at Bush Memorial thanks to the generosity of Mr J.  I had five fine seasons as a serious NFL Cardinals fan. In 1980 our family left St. Louis as my dad took a job with a defense contractor in Wash D.C. My red turned to burgundy and gold.

Even though I was still a Cardinals fan early on it was only a short while before l became a "Hail to the Redskins" young man. All the thread regulars here have heard numerous times of the great years doc and I had living during the Joe Gibbs era in greater Washington D.C.

While I was becoming a Skins fan my high school hometown lost their NFL football Cardinals when the owner Mr. Bidwell moved them to Phoenix. I was bummed for my STL friends. For 7 years those supportive fans were without a team. Thankfully NFL excitement did return to the folks of the riverfront city when the Los Angeles Rams left So Cal and relocated to St. Louis. Those Rams became another favorite team of mine. I love offense !! They had some fabulous players in Marshall Faulk, Kurt Warner, Issac Bruce, and Torry Holt. The Rams even had the great Jerome Bettis for three seasons before trading him to P3P's Steelers. The St. Louis Rams created the Greatest Show on Turf and won a Super Bowl. Things were cheerful again for the St. Louisans that loved professional football. Then the unthinkable happened once again and they lost yet another NFL team. The Rams owner Stan Kroenke decided to move the team back to Los Angeles.

I feel for the folks of greater St. Louis for they lost not one but two hometown NFL teams. The Rams that are playing this Sunday are the team that left the Edward Jones Dome in downtown St. Louis in 2016. This is why I am unable to pull for the current Rams regardless of them having a very good QB who was originally a Detroit Lion.

After the 1994 NFL season, the Rams left California and moved east to St. Louis, Missouri. Five seasons after relocating, the team won Super Bowl XXXIV in a 23–16 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Rams continued to play in the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis until the end of the 2015 NFL season, when the team filed notice with the NFL of its intent to pursue a relocation back to Los Angeles. The move was approved by a 30–2 margin at an owners' meeting in January 2016, with the Rams returning to the city for the 2016 NFL season.

Question -   Why does the commish often use a larger font size?

Answer -    Because he is an old man that needs strong reading glasses to see printed words and finds it easier to see when he is writing some of his more lengthy bits.

Our defending champ G1 is surely taking his sweet a*s time in submitting his picks.

It's either he is working out all the numbers in effort to gain an edge on his nearest competitor P48, or more likely the South Carolinian is passed out on moonshine and has been for days.

My nephew had offers to play football at Montana, Montana State and Cal Poly He ended up choosing Cal Poly. “High school kids but faster” is a great description! Haha. When I’m watching games I sometimes think what it would be like if they played a Michigan, Alabama, Georgia… It would be like boys vs. men! That said, he’s getting a free top tier education at a phenomenal school. The location isn’t half bad either 😉 So I’m stoked for him.

In the early 90's Loni Anderson took 5 friends out to dinner in Georgetown. The group of gals went to one of the more popular joints in D.C. at that time. Loni and her friends ended up in my section one Friday night. This was at Sequoia at the Washington Harbor in G town.  I can only tell you gents that this lady was so classy, very poised, and had the best of manners. Ms. Anderson was as far from a pretentious Hollywood star as one could be. So refreshing. I very much enjoyed making her and her guests'  D.C. dinner together memorable.

St. Louis Rams Team History | Sports Team History

So basically can’t pull for the Rams because they left St. Louis. Not a Matty S. fan because you had moved on from the Lions long before he got there. I get it.
As we know I am an East Bay CA guy at heart. Raiders we’re and are my team. I stayed with em when then went to LA, still with em now that they are in LV. Does that make me a fool/sucker??? IDK, perhaps. When your team is leaving for a new city you ask yourself. Will I stay a fan? And I am no exception. For me it finally came down to, my heart is with the Raiders and it’s the owner, not the players that made the decision. At the end of the day it’s big business and it all comes down to the $$$. So Davis did what he felt he needed to do for his business/company. I recognize the struggles and hurdles to get things done in a city like Oakland. So I don’t hate/dislike Davis. At the end of the day it’s just sports and the Raiders are my team 🤷🏼‍♂️ Also, like when they went to LA, LV is so close and I’ll still go to games… Now if they had moved to Florida… 🤔 haha!

The top gal is Spanish Charo. Her real name was.....wait for it María Rosario Pilar Martínez Molina Baeza! Charo also was a fairly accomplished flamenco guitar player. She was known for her bubbly Spanish sizzle and large rack.

The second girl is Cathy Lee Crosby. She was the co host of the tv show That's Incredible. She was Joe Theisman's girlfriend in the 80's. Joe left his wife for Cathy Lee. They never married but lived together for more than a decade.  Joe was a real playboy. She ended up suing the Skins QB for 4.5 mil because she claimed he promised to take care of her financially for life. They settled out of court. It got messy in DC for Joe and his breakup to Cathy Lee. Cathy Lee also played pro tennis before her tv career. I waited on Joe and Cathy Lee a few times in DC back in the 1980's.

I remembered Charo, my parents really didn't like her much, but I couldn't for the life of me remember Cathy Lee Crosby.  I recognized her, knew she was someone famous, but I just couldn't get the name or the connection.  Thanks for pulling it all together for me.

Charo was over the top obnoxious. I side with Mr. and Mrs. PGH P3P in saying she was nothing special, actually her antics gave me a headache.   lol
