Let’s digress from all of this jocular positioning and take a look at how everyone’s favorite player is progressing in the game of life.

By Jay Hart ‌ Over the next two weeks, we’re going to hear a lot about Matthew Stafford’s redemption and Joe Burrow’s couth and the Rams potentially cashing in after pushing all their chips into the middle of the table. ‌ But let’s start our Super Bowl discussion here: Last February, when this year’s first Super Bowl odds were released, the Cincinnati Bengals went off at 80-1, worse than all but one other team in the NFL — the Jacksonville Jaguars. By the time the season kicked off, the Bengals were at 125-1. ‌ Consider that for a moment, especially if you’re a fan of the Lions, who were also 125-1. ‌ Granted, Vegas isn’t always right, but they didn’t build the place off losses.  ‌ Thing is, it wasn’t just Vegas who got the Bengals wrong. Just about everyone did. As our Pete Truszkowski points out, those long odds were born out of some “questionable” moves: ‌ • Drafting a wide receiver (Ja’Marr Chase) over an offensive lineman (either Penei Sewell or Rashawn Slater, both highly touted) who could protect their franchise quarterback. • Putting their franchise quarterback out there on Week 1 after coming off a torn ACL. • Sticking with Zac Taylor as head coach despite a 6-25-1 record. ‌ Of course, now we know that Chase has helped elevate Burrow to another level, Burrow is tough as nails, and Taylor is capable, even if it’s only because of Burrow … something that could be said of a lot of head coaches and their quarterbacks. ‌ In defense of all the cynicism, the Bengals of recent vintage haven’t done much to earn anything close to the benefit of the doubt. Over the last decade, Cincy has drafted a grand total of four players who’ve been selected to a Pro Bowl. So when it comes to the Bengals, most of us start with skepticism and go from there. ‌ Not that one trip to a Super Bowl erases all of those doubts. The right quarterback can cover up a lot of warts, can make even the most moribund of franchises look better. And to be sure, Burrow fell into the Bengals’ lap. ‌ If there’s a lesson to be learned here, it’s not that the Bengals all of the sudden became a competent franchise that oddsmakers and critics overlooked. It’s that everyone underestimated Burrow. ‌ When the first Super Bowl line came out Sunday night, the Bengals were again the underdogs at -3.5. By Monday morning, with money pouring in on the Rams, the line had moved to -4. ‌ The bets are still rolling in against Joe Burrow. You'd think people would learn by now.

Let's end this year where we started, and I hope my boss doesn't check my google searches because it aint pretty.  Lots of different years, lots of different search terms to get the info I need for the final picks of the season.  I do hope for a good game, and its tough to pick against Joe B, but it isn't hard to pick against Joe Mixon.  But let's get this thing started.

 

In CA the #1 searched porn term was Asian, the #1 search for OH was step-sister.  That really is all you need to know about this game.  Rams, I will give the points, and please double this while I take a moment and throw up in the corner.  OH, you can do better than this, or at least we certainly hope this is an opportunity for improvement.

 

In CA they are also apt to search for lesbian films, in OH they lean toward teen.  Well JM, I don't like you and I suspect this isn't your key search term since you actually hit them.  I see through this, and I believe the Rams will be up at halftime.

 

In CA apparently they search for "swag," now how this ties into the adult film industry I am not sure, whereas in OH they tend to check out cougar porn, perhaps in search of the elusive Joe B filmology taken at the same bar Urban was hanging out in (though in the reverse).  I see a lot of points in this program as the cougars are all wearing swag collide with both Kupp and Chase having big games.  Give me the over, and let's double this two.

 

Both states lean heavily to MILF searches.  So in this regard there is no difference whom we pick, but I will make the prediction anyway.  LAR 35 Cincinnati 28.

I bet Nike kicked in a percentage towards the final cost of that custom made JB9 necklace. It would have looked way better without the swoosh. I like most everything about the young man but his choice in jewelry, but then I am an old fart and he is a popular young buck. You go on and ROAR  Bengal leader!   

 

TS, I think he would have a better ride than a 17' Challenger though for bippin' through the C Town 'burbs dropping off baggies. I'm thinking, ok it's Ohio and a ton of people in the Buckeye State work in a job that is in some way related to the automobile industry so yes it must be domestic. Because sales are good and his coolness factor is rather high I see him in a 2019 Cadillac ATS V.  I found one that goes well with his long winter coat.   😃
