Nice looking sticks. I'm curious what the offset is like. They don't show address pics on the site for the 201 (they do for the 101) and in the video it appears that the 201's have quite a bit of offset.

I just don't see that much offset in mine. I'm coming from Srixon 565 and the 201's seem to have a bit less to me.

The top line though, it’s not hideous, but I’m not complaining.

i feel they do go straighter,  I’m thinking the lack of tech such as tungsten weighting in the toe and such allow me to control the club face with more subtle adjustments. Clubs nowadays are filled with so much tech it’s like having the gain on autocorrection at 200%. My expectations of this club have been exceeded every time I swing them. I might add one degree of loft though, as I think the 4i isn’t happy at +2 degrees strong.

Had a chance to get to heated range today at Carl's Golfland because I had to determine if I was keeping the 201s or send back and wait for who knows when to get my original desire trading back for the more forgiving etc,etc 101s.. Had 5,7,9 of my G410 and grabbed a stock TM 790 steel and a Zx4 recoil. Long story short the 201s aren;t as long but only by a little as the TM 790s but FEEL way softer and as forgiving,at least today they were. That was just a last minute grab to relate to an iron 3 times the cost. Went thru 4-pw with the 201s. Obviously keeping. As I mentioned many times I have owned 50 sets plus of all type irons ,most forged,and all in all they are a pretty good bang for the buck.

AS an aside I saw on YouTube Jim Robinson still had the 201s in his bag in a segment made yesterday. He still likes them after being in bag over a month and considering he gets irons offered him by about every OEM that's saying something.

I checked offset numbers vs TM790,Under 70 699 ,699 Pro. 201's offset lower than those three FWIW.

Has anyone compared club for club the 201s with the Maltyby Ts-1. I'm really torn between the two.  I was leaning towards a combo set of Maltby TS1's 5-P and a 3-4 TS2.  Or Takomo 201s 5-P and maybe  101 for 3 & 4.  So many good reviews on these 201s but I Have 3 friends back east playing the maltby's. Any extra advice?

I emailed Takomo not too long ago about purchasing individual iron heads,  they responded it was not available at the moment, but plans to do so not until 2022.

To which irons would you compare these from other manufacturers?

Preferably, Taylormade/Titleist/Mizuno comparisons. 🙂

They are a forged cavity back design. They are not hollow body like a p790 or forged TEC. They are fairly close to standard OG lofts with the 7 iron at 32 degrees. They're extremely soft with good ball speeds.

Takomo's got the worst return policy I have ever seen, especially for a direct to consumer product. I've returned from STIX before, didn't like them, no questions asked return policy. With Takomo, it's my 3rd set of irons. I bought the 101 and 101t then trying out 201. I didn't like the 201s, felt a bit too dense. Irons must be return 30 calendar days of purchase, so with shipping and possible delays, I bet they would use that against you. Anyway, I opened them up to take a look, and tested the 7 for about 20 shots total on trackman. Numbers were super bad and tried to return, was given a INSTANT NO because I had taken the plastic wrap off. It seems like the company really wants to NOT want you to return their products. They might as well as say NO RETURNS allowed. THE REST OF THE IRONS ARE UNUSED AND BRAND NEW. Tell me one person that wouldn't take off the plastic wraps to both inspect and look at.

Reviving a dead thread… I’m interested in the 201, however current 201 clubs have been out for 2.5 yrs plus. Does anybody know when @Takomo plans on releasing the update? Even at this amazing price I won’t purchase a set that has been out this long.

I wish they would release a newer version. I loved mine, but they didn't hold up well at all. I had multiple heads where the chrome was peeling away. I have nothing bad to say about the way they performed, especially for the money. Just hope they've increased the quality control and the customer service. I offered to buy just individual iron heads to replace the ones that had the chrome chipping away and got nowhere. Due to my OCD I couldn't stand to look at them and moved on to something else.
