Very cool!

IIRC Stram was quite short and had an, ahem, round physique.  Are the lofts and lies different from standard? Perhaps quite different?

Grew up a Broncos fan, his teams at KC used to beat us unmercifully. Hated those chiefs. Almost as much as the raiders haha

They seem standard. The letter states he never played them. His son found them after Hank passed away and they offered them to the Saints Hall of Fame. They were auctioned off to raise money for a Charity and now they are in my garage( I did not win them at auction) but I feel like I hit the lottery so to speak lol!!!

the woods are mint and I see evidence of any use of the irons either.

My guess would be nice stuff but not worth a great deal.....Hope i am wrong because if so, i have some valuable things taking up space in storage.

So you don’t think the 7 mint Persimmon woods are worth much?

I don’t expect that the total package is worth Thousands, but I figured maybe close to a grand. Perhaps not. Cool anyway as I am a Lifelong Saints fan and always enjoyed Hank’s antics and sideline banter.

I made an offer just because they were mint and the lady Informed

me of the back story when I picked them up. Kinda felt like a criminal if I am being honest.

very nice find.  love the irons.  these penna woods can be had quite inexpensively these days.  even with the letter.    the putter is neat with his name stamped.  also not much value there either.  you might get a saints fan interested though but think $1K is highly aspirational for the woods.  Maybe half of that for all the woods and irons.  eBay is a great gauge for going prices.  Pennas are typically picked up on the cheap.  i get it though on the condition of these.  a great find none the less.

I thought 700-1000 for all of it. Oh well, only paid very little (less than a new non Scotty Putter)

I had forgot that he coached the Saints.....I always think of him with Lenny Dawson, Willie Lanier, and my all time favorite Mike Garrett.

Wow what a fantastic score!  Very cool indeed.  I'm a huge fan of "whole bag" finds like this and am somewhat envious to say the least.  I'm an irons guy and I must say that these look absolutely gorgeous.  Stunning in fact.  Love the ferrules!

(...and the grips and yellow paintfill too)

As for value I'd have to go along with the others in that they're probably not worth a whole lot of actual "dollars" but to my vintage golf crazed mind they are a real treasure as a set.  If it were me they'd be firmly set in the "Not goin' anywhere" category of my collection just as they are.

It is both fortunate and unfortunate that vintage golf equipment is generally not particularly valuable these days.  Fortunate for us collectors but unfortunate in that such beautiful and perfectly usable equipment is held in such low regard.  Ah marketing...  another both fortunate and unfortunate thing.

Ps:  I think the right thing to do with these would be to leave them unplayed and displayed.  Now that I've said that I will add that there's no freaking way I'd be able to resist taking them out for a round.  I'm so weak....  haha

Toney penna are excellent clubs but that era don’t garner much attention from most collectors or gamers.  They can be acquired very inexpensively.   You never know though.  If you are selling g vs keeping List on an eBay auction and you’ll see if they garner much attention.
