Does Kyoei forge for anyone else?

Does Kyoei make any component heads for anyone else not under their own name?   I remember years ago I think they used to make KZG's heads and also Vega, but do they forge for anyone else now that may be more reasonably priced?   I've always felt they were the best feeling heads I've  hit.

Yururi I believe , as well as Zestaim & Nextage.

Quite a few.. Mystery irons, modart wedges as well iirc. I believe artisan wedges are Kyoei forgings too.

Really? I thought I read somewhere that they had their own forging house or had some contract with one in Himeji , but this makes more sense if true.

On Kyoei...I keep reading on WRX that United irons are Kyoei forged.... I spoke to the local rep for United a few years back and asked him the same.  He mentioned they are NOT Kyoei forged but forged in Taiwan.

Vega was the in-house brand for Kyoei (much like Epon for Endo) until 2012. PGE (Professional Golf Europe) was the international distributor for Vega, and bought Vega in 2012.  I read somewhere that there was a stipulation that Vega continue to use Kyoei as their forging house.  

 

Yururi wedges are also forged by Kyoei.

Chris from tourspec told me they were Kyoei blanks when I inquired about them.  It does make sense they 100% have the Kyoei feel.

As far as I was concerned, Masda was Kyoei. But I have heard both versions. I also have been told on numerous occasions that Masda does 100% of their putter lineup in house. That could lead to the theory of Masda pounding out their own blanks for iron sets. Regardless, Masdas previous iteration of their MB looked nothing like a Kyoei forging then or now, and was probably the silent dark horse in the MB world at that time. The only person I could say that would know for sure would be @tsupo

I disagree.  I have version 2 and 3 of the Masda blades and they both have the kyoei look and feel. I’m pretty much sure they’re kyeoi forged based on the other kyeoi forged irons I’ve played. I don’t know the best way to describe it but they have the same exact look and feel is the best I can come up with. Putters may be a different story I have no idea. In fact I bought these off tsupo lol. And a few other sets 😂.  I doubt stew would have any inside info on Masda forgings and he isn’t active on this forum anymore.

Anybody ever hit Yururi irons? There are a couple different heads on TourSpec that look incredible.  I'm sure they feel great given the forging, but curious how they play.

Never played them but I’ve played many of the kyoei forgings and they’re all great. I’ve had my eye on the PDG’s since I like sets with traditional lofts although I don’t like that the 3 iron is 20. I guess they just went with it to keep the 4 degree gaps but in essence that leaves the set mostly weak as compared to standard players iron lofts today with a 1 degree strong 3 iron. Seems goofy to me. 

There’s a lot of different kyeoi options on the tour spec site. For me the loft specs are important. The flat backs are kind of on the stronger side as well so that’s a turn off to me. Id rather lose some distance and just club up if I need to in general. Lofts that are that strong I find harder to hit. I have a set of the 1964s as one of my gamers and they’re very nice. 
 

 

Also the Cleveland 68.3 Byron Nelson’s were kyeoi forged I actually have a set in mint condition. Throwback but still cool.

Not their irons, but I have a Yururi Gekku LW.  Feels like a proper forged wedge should feel.  🙂

Those masda heads look a lot more like a fujimoto than a kyoei
