Best options in Nashville

We will be in Nashville the end of June.  I keep hearing Gaylord Springs and Hermitage.   Any other suggestions?   Someone mentioned Governor's Run but it's Private.   TIA

I assume you meant Governor's Club? Yes, it's private.

 

For public courses your best options would be the two you already mentioned (Gaylord and Hermitage). You could probably throw Greystone in there also, but it's about 30 minutes outside of the city.

Governor's Club is private, it's nice, but no where near the nicest private course.

 

Nashville public golf scene is not very good, imo, but ABH is correct.

 

Gaylord, Hermitage, and Greystone. You could throw Harpeth Hills in there it's a good track, but nothing that will wow you.

Wouldn't be afraid to add Legacy in Springfield if you are willing to drive to Greystone.

 

Hermitage gets the edge over Gaylord for me.

It has already been said, but Hermitage (Presidents) and Gaylord are the options.  Greystone if you are willing to drive a bit.

Also, the advantage of Hermitage/Gaylord is you can make advance tee times (Gaylord goes out a month I believe) whereas the munis have ZERO online booking and many other courses are max 2 weeks booking in advance.

Towhee Club in Spring Hill.  New clubhouse will be open by then.

If you don't mind driving, Sweetens Cove is 1:45hr drive from Nashville, and if you watch their website, you can usually nab a cancellation about a week out.

The drive to Sweetens is not bad at all from Nashville, so if you can get in it's worth it. Also, the Sewanee course is apparently fantastic, and ~30 minutes away. Lots of folks play both in a day.

Sewanee would be an easier drive, a far less expensive round, and it gives up nothing to Sweeten's Cove.
