Shapland Stand bag

Recommended Posts

Any reviews of this bag. Looks great. Concerned about the weight though. Website claims it’s 5.5 lbs which is pretty heavy. Heavier than Linksmaster, per website, and the Linksmaster is a tank!

Curious if there are owners out there who can help me compare.

thanks!

I owned a shapland 2.0. I loved everything about it EXCEPT it did not have full length dividers. To pay that much for tangle was really annoying. Top notch quality. Great size. Weight didn’t bug me. If they had full length dividers I’d have no problem buying again.

super nice classy bags. Prices have gone up like everything else.

I've had the 2.2 bag for about 3 months and it's great.  The materials are high quality and the straps work well.  Love the metal zipper pulls, metal clasps that attach the carry straps to the bag etc & overall I feel like the bag will last a long time.  The bag looks classy, with modern features.  I have had many compliments on it.  The weight isn't an issue, I've carried the bag for about 15 rounds and the balance is great. Once you load up a bag with clubs & balls etc I think all/most bags feel the same for weight.

Only a few small complaints: The cart strap pass through sleeve is a little too low (maybe an inch) and this makes sliding the sleeve through a little harder.  The small pocket that opens down into the bag (on top of the large, full length side storage pocket) is a bit harder to open because the zipper opening is curved.  Lastly, the black paint on the stand legs wore off right away where the legs rub up against a cart when riding.

These complaints are minor overall and I highly recommend the 2.2 Shapland stand bag.

I've had it for a while now (grey stand bag v2.2) and it was a perfect replacement for the Hoofer, essentially it's a very premium version of that. Utility overall is about the same, but the details and quality are astonishing. I actually started out looking because I generally dislike having brand logos on anything.  Ping's custom program had long lead times and a min order of three in order to accomplish that with a Hoofer, so that was a no-go. Glad I stumbled on Shapland.

this bag looks great.....looking for a smaller bag to take my clubs to the range and the simulator instead of lugging my fully loaded SM C-130

After seeing the pics of the stand bag here and on their web site, and reading your reviews, I'm very interested in getting one myself.  But now it seems to have disappeared from Shapland's web site.  The only stand bag I see now is the Elate.

Does anyone now if this a temporary thing?  Or is it permanently gone?

2.3 is out: https://shaplandbags.com/collections/golf-bags/products/stand-bag-2-4

From the site: "Taking all the feedback from the Stand Bag 2.2, we continue to improve upon the ultimate golf stand bag for the discerning golfer.  With a few new features and a return to our original leather, this bag will age like a fine wine. Plus FREE (US) SHIPPING on all golf bags."

Not sure what the new features are, but they still look good.  I am debating between a vessel VLS and a Shapland 2.3... the only hang up I have with the Shapland is the weight.

Thanks for posting. The 2.3 is definitely the best looking version so far. Looks like that handle think on top has been toned down a bit and doesn’t look like such an eyesore anymore.

Rosemary and Grey look stellar, hard to pick a favorite between those two.

Interesting. I didn’t realize that. The 2.3 stand bag doesn’t have full length dividers, club tangle hasn’t been an issue so far though…

Not sure if it's just me but I feel like a lot of the stands on these niche premium brand bags don't look to be as high quality as those on modern stand bags.  They look like stands from 15+ years ago or from a box set bag.

Maybe that's part of the aesthetic? But, it's a huge turn off for me especially when the rest of the bag looks great.

Stands themselves look fine to me. It’s the weight of these bags that makes me balk. I have moderate scoliosis so I push as much as possible, but when I absolutely have to carry every pound counts.

I mean, a hoofer lite is 5lbs. So, 5.5 isn't that outrageous especially if it's well balanced.  Then again, I don't have your condition so maybe it is.

If the stand was carbon so it was down to 5lbs, would you buy it for $50 more?
