I'd imagine they're making these as slant necks and not just long necks. Odyssey used to have a nice slant neck #6.

The forward slant is for a face balanced blade.

Maybe slant was the wrong word... I meant how the neck enters the head at a weird angle rather than at 90 degrees like every other putter.  The way ping does it makes it seems like the putter would play like a center shafted blade

So the shaft access point goes through the COG and makes it fully face balanced. A lot of long necks have a touch of toe hang to them.

Like others have said, it's to move the CG towards the middle of the face. I think most slant necks are designed for that affect.

If you go through the PLD fitting, that head and finish are an option, that’s what I chose
