Mizuno Pro225 black out edition

Just saw the blackout edition of the Pro225 looks pretty sweet! Seems like everyone has a blackout line. It seems to be all the rage.

I do like a black iron. Although they also have a tendency to remind me of Vijay...

I was told yesterday by the mizuno fitter, there is only one shaft option. DG 105 black shaft no other options $1700.

They do look great. Won’t get them with only one shaft option. Black $taper would be nice too if you can get them! Or maybe the MMT graphite shafts

Just want a 4 iron for the top of the bag to go with my MP Fli Hi 3 iron. Have a blackout PX steel shaft ready for it. Was going to use a standard 225 4 iron, but this would be way cooler.

Years ago I picked up a set of the irons pictured below and reshafted em with black KBS shafts. “Murdered ‘em out” if you will. They were cool but the novelty wore off quickly. Sold em on the bay for more than I had in em! Haha

But yeah, I'm not going to pay extra for a specific finish. I happened to get my black irons - Cleveland CG7 Tours - just because they were the best option available at the time. Played them for 8 or 9 years, if memory serves.

 

They came to me pre-worn. But those cast Cleveland heads with the black finish - after, I would guess 15 years of play - still look pretty good.

 

With Vijay, it all comes down to attitude and deer antlers.

Ion plating, just like the Mizuno Pro Fli Hi driving iron.
