The paradym already has like 4 tour wins since it launched under its belt.  More than any other driver in that time frame.  Tells you a lot about their product.

2 of them from same player.

I’ll try it regardless but definitely got the price point wrong I believe, especially if they want more of the market. I’ve had some great success with their drivers in the past, especially the d100 and FG Tour f5 series.

Wilson had the D300 at $350, D7 at $299, and D9 at $350. All were solid performers. Now they launch the Dynapower, which is apparently putting up excellent numbers in reviews, price it with the other second-tier brands, and suddenly they've "missed the price point"? Like I know we all hoped it would be 3 easy payments of $79.99, but if they did that everyone would say it's a cheap box-set club and would still rail against it.

The only thing they missed for me is the release date. Embargo date January 17th, not available until Feb 22 for preorder, and March something for delivery. We don't even get to hit the thing until a month after you can buy, have delivered, and have any other brand in your bag.

Hope not.  Be a shame if it was.  Cortex was a great driver.  I am sure this one will be excellent, too.  I think they got the price point wrong.

He was playing a 6 year old driver.

It must have been a pretty decent driver to have stayed in the bag all those years.

That was exactly my recollection - he had one of the Great Big Bertha drivers in the bag for years...must have quite liked it!

D7, D9, and D300 were not touted as "players" drivers.  The DYNA Carbon was.  It had way more hype going (still not a ton, comparatively to others) than a D7 or D9 would have.  Then they priced it with companies like Cobra, Taylormade, Callaway.

Oddly enough, the D300 has a tour win.

Paradym: $599 (MSRP)

Stealth 2: $600 (2+: $630)

G430: $600-630

TSR: $600

Aerojet: $549

Zx5/7: $499

ST-Z 230: $499

Dynapower: Ti: $430/Carbon: $499

0311 Gen5: $299

They priced it solidly in/below the tier 2 players' driver segment. (PXG pricing is just weird) No one complains about Srixon or Mizuno being there.

Wilson for whatever reason is held to some impossible standard. Make a club that is better than the big boys, but sell it for... half? of what they do, make sure it does not incorporate a single visual design element that bears any resemblance to any other driver ("looks they just ripped off brand xyz"), make sure it doesn't look like it belongs in a box set (whatever that means), the list goes on.

You use it?  Kept up speed and distance wise with any other driver of its time.  Just priced wrong.  Much like this driver.

I certainly hit it. I’d argue that distance isn’t the only criteria for a driver by a long shot, and that driver fell short in a lot of ways. Nothing really great about it.

Lol the Dynapower stuff looks like it comes in a complete set including bag at dunham's for $299.99

I don’t want to bag on Wilson here, but I agree that 3 wood doesn’t “look” premium to me. I’m sure it’s a good club but looks are a big part of it.

I agree with you on Wilson being held to an unfair standard.  I think the driver actually looks great.  I am going to try it out.  Just think they should have priced it $50 lower to try and gain market share.

I'm hoping I get fit for the Ti for that exact reason; save a bit more money!

Making it $50 cheaper wouldn't do much for them. It still needs to perform. The OEMs that are trying to gain traction have a large wall to climb and it's not getting easier with how much $$$ Callaway and TaylorMade are willing to throw at anyone (almost literally anyone with the YouTube golfer signings).

Have you seen it in person from address? It doesn't look bad at all. I would have no issues playing it.

Biggest thing is he isn’t playing a Callaway driver. Tells you a lot about their product. Is there anyone not under contract playing their driver. Don’t think so. Ping, Titleist, TM all see non staffer in their drivers.

Justin Rose went from the 2016 TaylorMade M2 to the Paradym last week at Torrey.  Not sure what's in the bag this week at Pebble.

One thing I dont understand, is the un-tested and outright hate for a driver they have never seen or played. Conversely, no love for lots of pros that can go to WS irons and not skip a beat. The forum warriors here are just a weird bunch.
