Dude, just saying…

if you have a McLaren in the garage, this car is a throwaway.  I have ‘11 Prius, never been washed.  That’s a whatever burger, Hyundai Kona?  Welcome to my world.

The funny thing is that I've owned my Lotus for 8 years and I've washed it twice and one of those times was right after I bought it.  It's a garage queen anyhow.  It gets more dust on it than road grime.  The areas that get the most dirt are where the fiberglass has worn, so there isn't much point in cleaning there other than to draw more attention to it.  LOL.

Marcel Siem excited to make return after three month recovery from hip surgery.

Talk about your sassy golf outfits. This was German professional golfer Marcel Siem's look today at the Italian Open. He won on the first playoff hole against Tom McKibbon.

I leased an Ioniq 5 in that sweet green / blue / teal color that changes colors about 3 months ago to see if EV life works for me.

Can’t wait to put a deposit down on a Rivian R3X, assuming the firm lasts long enough to produce. 😁

I think I've mentioned before that my Kona is an EV.  I'd been idly thinking about trading it in for a Kia EV6, but I really don't need anything bigger.  I'm going to wait to see the US Specs for the Kia EV3.  The fact of the matter is that I don't spend nearly as much time in my car as I used to since my shift at work changed last year and I'm now able to use the work bus.  Instead of ~350 miles/week, now I'm lucky if I'm doing 50.

I'm still waiting to see a VW ID Buzz "Electric Bus" in the wild.

I really like the Ioniq. Just a couple things I’d change with software. When I select iPedal, don’t make me do it again after I take the car out of gear….should stay in that mode! But overall it is a really super vehicle, and 0.00% chance I’d ever consider a Tesla now. The Tesla software is pretty good but the hard product is orders of magnitude better in the Hyundai.

I’m on the iDBuzz wait list. The missus car is a 2010, it gets hard use, and the car is showing its age. VW is screwing up the launch in so many ways though, we will see if getting one works out. I’m not optimistic.

... Awesome you are enjoying yours! There were 63 folks on the waiting list for the Ioniq 5 when it was first released here in Phoenix. Everyone was charging a $10k "market adjustment"  🙄  but my dealership wasn't and just charging full sticker, hence the 63 on the waiting list. Almost nobody wanted a Genesis EV since the first ones released were only the $70k Performance model. I still haven't seen a GV60 in the wild. While I like the shape of my GV60, the hatchback loses trunk space so the Ioniq would handle my Zip and clubs and a friends clubs much better. If I could do it over again and the Ioniq was available without a $10k FU charge, I would have bought an Ioniq 5.

... Software. My GV60 has been going crazy since my last revision and I have to take it in for another recall. That makes 4 face tory recalls in 16 months. But my warning goes off almost every time I come to a stop as it thinks another car is near enough to sound the alarm, even f it is clear in front of me.Really annoying. It does have lots of really cool features that surprised me but lots I don't need or want that seem to cause problems, pretty much like all modern electronics.

I saw my first Cyber Truck today in person.  That is the ugliest and down right dumbest looking thing on the road. If that ever becomes the EV Standard, I will be a 1,000,000,000% no thank you.

Thanks! I have never leased a vehicle before, and I also feel like I need a shower after 90 seconds in a Hyundai dealer, so I paid a broker for this lease. The deal was almost too good to be true, he put it up on Leasehackr and by the end of the afternoon the dealer he works with was cleaned out of all of their ioniqs! I’m glad I didn’t fart around, I saw the posting, texted him, and had a car secured to pick up the next week like 45 minutes later.

There was also a sizable tax incentive (larger than the F. U. adjustment you mentioned….) on the lease but not on a purchase, so that free $ made for an easy decision.

The charging network in most of PA is really bad. PA is not very….progressive. I need to go to Williamsport in August and I’ll probably rent a car because there is not one DCFC in the area. I’d never consider an EV if I didn’t have home charging, that’s table stakes, really. But the inconvenience is relatively rare for my usage, and I like the driving experience enough that it’s a trade off that is no problem for me.

So we were finally like "Eff it, let's do it." 😂

We are moving into 25 years of marital bliss.  I am quick to admit it was the best day of my life, and the worst of hers, but somehow she stuck with it.  Can't really figure out why honestly.

We had to commemorate 25 with a little adventure, and we were going to play the Old Course and putz around over there, but we were too late in the planning stages so we had to put it off.  So then we were kibbutzing about maybe another place we have never been, stateside, and maybe play some golf.  Wednesday we are going to jump on a plane and head to none other than Milwaukee for a long weekend.

We invited the golf course GM and his wife, and they agreed.  Hopefully my cap increases prior to the member/guest this month.

Just this morning I was looking at the courses.  I remember seeing them on TV, but not really remembering them, so I youtubed the hole by hole videos.  I hope it isn't too much for the Mrs., both Mrs's actually.  Erin Hills looks to have manageable carries from the forward tees, but of course you have to carry it so she can't top the ball or it's gone.  Same at Whistling Straits, though WS looks diabolical the way it's carved along the lakeshore.

As you can imagine, having finally broken through the 100 barrier the expectations are high, and nothing says heartache and frustration like high expectations.

If the forced carry is to far from the forward tees, just let them tee off after the hazard.  No one will care, the credit card was already approved.  Have fun and enjoy 2 courses used for majors.

Yep, my wife is getting started in the game. She loves to play and shoots….a BIG number still. She roasts her tee ball — measured career long is 188 yards, no slope aid — but if she is having a rough stretch or crisis of confidence hitting it sideways, I’ll tee one up in the fairway and have her hit from there.

We did that at Old Head, the caddie would just take her to a spot and drop it assuming she didn't already say "I am done."  I think she finished about 12 of the holes and the others she just walked around and looked at the cliffs, etc.
