Don't know if it's such a bad move. They have talent and in NFL there's an expiration date on it. NYC demands wins, they answered. Might give Zach Wilson time to grow out of his frat boy gravitas, and still have an NFL future. As a Jet fan I liked the Favre era, it was fun, still a fan of his. It pretty much paved the way for some solid years after. Fannies will show up at games, the AFC has solid teams but they come in with purpose and every reason to give it all. There's a window. Screw it. :)

Don't disagree, but he's owned by them for the moment and they can go to him and be like "dude you will get another shot, be ready". He will respond, ball will be in his court and it will cost same price as cutting him. I think he's in over his head but maybe he's a late bloomer type. He might have needed a more gradual maturation process. NFL QB might be the hardest gig in sports, it's all about the QB now, fair or not.

Gotcha. Wasn’t sure how NY FB goes. In Bay Area it’s Raiders or 9ers. Nobody likes both. And I know in Chicago w/baseball it’s Sox or Cubs. Here it’s A’s or Giants. Almost never meet anyone that likes both.

yeah, i know they’re stuck with him for now.  i just think he’s way over his head like you said and i don’t see it turning around in a meaningful way. 

 

i also don’t buy the “he just needs a veteran to learn from” party line i’ve been hearing. joe flacco was on the roster all season and it doesn’t seem like zack learned anything from a 15 year vet with a super bowl ring. (yes,

i’m aware joe flacco isn’t aaron rodgers…)

I'm not an X&O's guy but one constant to QB's doing well is a great O-line. As a Jets fan that's what I'll be looking at come September.

Yeah, generally same here, Giants hate Jets, Mets hate Yankees.

 

I’m more inclined to apply my fanaticism toward regionally based hatred. 🤣 Like Boston or Philly, or Dallas! 
 

Football is so great that I just want those  Sunday slots filled with good games. And now the Jets gonna be big time ARoj circus 🎪 greatest show on earth!

Agree, if he couldn’t learn from Flacco, do you think he will learn from Rodgers, and is Rodgers invested enough to be a mentor.

1st half of season Jets were winning. He needed to step up, he didn't, and not only that he blew off the notion he needed to. His fate turned within weeks but team was playoff bound at 7-2. Tough crowd.

... If I were GM on a bad team I would sabotage the entire season to get Drake Maye next year. He is the next Herbert/Burrow/Mahomes talent and I expect him to be a huge star. I can't remember talent both physically and mentally like him since Andrew Luck and Maye is even more talented.

I think the opposite!

 

NY will shower ARoj with Beatles like adulation. He will eat like a king, get invited to galas and the opera, score amazing babes!
 

He will be elevated to a messiah. A savior to deliver us from our misery.

I wouldn't get too excited BSC. Although Rodgers has owned my bears he's not the same QB he was two years ago. He misses a lot of easy throws that he never used to miss. And he can be a cancer in the locker room if he ain't happy. NY media gonna eat him alive. There's a reason most greenbay fans even wanted him gone.

DMM I actually was backing the Jets many weeks in our picks contest last season. They were OK to start the year and then flamed out. 

I have always been a fan of Rodgers. Here's hoping that his selection of number 8 will bring him luck and he will have a successful first season as the QB of the Jets. I really hope it does, for him and the fans in New York and Jersey that want to see it happen.

His dad and brother played basketball at UNC, and his mom also is an alum, I think that is more why he went to UNC, so Saban didn’t have a real chance.
