There was such a tremendous amount of music being created in the late 60's, picking just three is proving to be difficult.  Where to begin?  But here's my H.S. era picks to click:

Would have to start with Motown.  Growing up here, it was the music of my youth.  The entire catalog has become transcendent to time and place.  But let's go with Smokey.

Representing all the great Michigan bands we would go see on the music/dance hall circuit.  Seger.

And this because of this.  Becoming aware of the band, had a tune that charted, read a blurb that they were thrashing their equipment at the end of a show (WTF?).  Color several of us curious.  Four tickets were nabbed, piled into a buddy's car (he had his DL) and rolled the 15 miles up the road to the venue.  General admission, worked our way up close to the stage.  Was a relatively short set (~30 minutes IIRC), but proved to be transformational.  Attitudes changed, the volume was turned up.  Thought we were on to something.  We left after the Magoo's set.   Later that night came the infamous Holiday Inn incident.  August 23, 1967.

From two months prior:

Well said Fella, indeed it's tough to ask to pick only three from the late 60's.

You know I love/loved me some Motown too. Though a little younger than you I can also say it was the sound of our city.

Sea Turtles are a big thing around here in more than size. The nests are protected by law. Generally they lay their eggs at night. The other day one in Pawleys Island one did not get the memo she laid her eggs in the broad daylight right on the beach. It was all over the local TV media here

So much more in those years - Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Talking Heads, etc., but these songs definitely make me think of high school.

Back in Black holds special meaning for me. 10 years ago I went back up to Gaffney and ran a big race in a friend of mines car. My main colors back in the day were Black with either orange or yellow numbers. My friend had several cars and he did this one up special with my number and colors. On the rear valance (where the tail lights used to be) They had lettered Back in Black. The track announcer who was colorful needless to say played all kinds of music on the PA during breaks. He played the song for me.

Now sadly it was not a Cinderella story. I did not qualify for the race and ran 4th in the last chance qualifier. I was a good gesture. I had been out of a car for close to 10 years and worked all week and got up there mid morning of the race. So basically I did not get seat time or set up time. Of course I will admit I was rusty too on the driving and age had caught me some. But it was retro fun and it was a last minute thing. In fact they were putting the decals on at the track when I arrived. Less than an hour later with no seat time I attempted to qualify. Now day with my condition I can not even attempt that now. One hit wrong and I am in a wheelchair

When I was in the Navy those were all the rage on the shore among single guys officers and enlisted alike. As usual I was odd man out and preferred my Corvettes and Camaros. In a drag race I could smoke them even though I was heavier. Now I never did a road course or road race but I feel the 240s were more nimble and could out handle me. While in the Navy I raced on the drag strip only because street racing is what got me into trouble to begin with and that was why I was in the Navy

240 or 280? A buddy of mine had a 240z in high school. That was one fun car!

The car left so I will check the next time it's here, but I think it was a 240.

Just got back from another practice session.  Feel like I’m making strides, better contact overall.  Still not going past left arm parallel, not worrying about results, but feels better.  My club is having TM out in a few weeks so I booked a slot, not planning on buying anything, but viewing as a chance to get some data from a person that does this regularly and worth the 45 minutes of my time, provided swing is in a good place.

P-790's will change your life.

Just saying. 😃

Good to hear you are out there working on your swing and feeling some improvement Big Fish.

No P790’s for me, I like my irons, I’m looking more at hybrids and woods for this fitting thing.

I’m with you Fish. It’s been 18 months since my shoulder surgery and I’m just now starting to feel the ball again. Still not scoring well, but my swing/contact is finally starting to feel better. Aen’s comment about the right wrist got me to revisit the No Turn Cast session I bought from Monte Scheinblum a while back. It made more sense this time around, especially since I’ve strengthened my grip and have a better feel for the wrist hinge.

I also went for a fitting earlier this year, like you, mainly to get data. I’m done trying to buy a game, at least with equipment. My fitter was a former tour pro, mostly lower level tours, and is now an instructor. I took a couple of lessons with him and he really helped me get on the right path.

It’s definitely a process and probably why I’m so infatuated with golf. It’s the one sport that I haven’t been able to get by with on natural ability.

Keep plugging!

My brother is a big fan of the Z cars

He has had them all from the 240 and now has a 350

I have a friend who was a huge Nissan fan. Had a 350 and raced a Miata. He even went over to Japan to visit the factory. I’m not sure what he got out of that, other than he was obsessed with their cars.

... When they offer free fittings and it is convenient, I love them. I like hitting all the new stuff, including shafts but I very rarely decide to buy anything. That said, at a TM demo day I was surprised how well I hit the Stealth2 HD and it clearly outperformed my gamer in both distance and accuracy. The final straw was sound/feel which is just about perfect for me. I didn't care for the Stealth so I didn't have any expectations for the Stealth2 and since my miss is a draw turned into a bigger draw, the HD was not something I was interested in. But it produces more spin which I need and I bought a lighter weight for the heel and put some lead tape on the toe.

... I think this is the thing with free fittings. You go there not expecting to buy or change clubs and the majority of the time that is exactly what happens. But with an open mind you can sometimes be pleasantly surprised.

Yup! Exactly why it’s free. They know a decent % of the ppl going there to “try and not buy” will end up pulling the trigger! Esp after they hit the ‘20 mph tailwind’ button on the launch monitor! 😂
