Scotty’s custom shop back open?

Was just wondering if anyone knows an estimate when Scotty’s custom shop is back open from winter break. Thanks

Hoping some new options coming too, maybe newer grips (I know they just released the flatso type grips) and some new head covers.

looks like they made some changes. cant get free paint fill if you buy a cover/grip.

How was this ever an option?  I kept having people say you could do that.  I tried on the website and they tried to charge me for everything.  I did not purchase a grip or cover.

It was always an option 

if ya added CS cover and grip paintfill cost went to 0. 
no more.

I know guys sent stuff in for the limited cover and got paint free. Did ya choose one of the $81 covers?

I sent one back for grip, head cover, and paint fill last summer and the paint was free. Sad that isn't offered anymore and disappointed no new options after shutting down for 3.5 months. Was hoping for new head covers and maybe some new grips in there.

Don't know if I would send mine in for just a grip change. I wish they would just sell that grip to me vs having to spend a good amount on shipping to and back and being without the putter for a month.

Looks like the only way paintfill is "free" now is if you add restoration to your putter. I never realized it used to be free with just a grip and headcover purchase

Yea would be great to have the option of just buying the grip or head cover alone instead of sending it back but then those would probably sell out in min/hours. I do like that they are the ones to regrip though seems they get it on straight every time

So on their custom shop FAQ’s it says that they are introducing a new option to get your putter head refinished in all black or silver. Anyone have some more insight on this? Because when you go through the custom shop, it doesn’t show this new refinishing option

 

The messaging is a bit confusing. I reached out and they don’t offer this for the Phantom X line “because of the 2-piece aluminum construction” - not sure why that would matter, we see black Phantoms on Tour every week, and they’ve releaser limited run black Phantom X’s, but whatever

More work to remove the head which also means room for liability if something goes wrong

You think that removing the aluminum sole section would be difficult? I kinda doubt that but idk. I got a followup reply from them and they said restoring aluminum is difficult; it sounded like they were thinking of the older generations of Phantoms where aluminum was the main material. Removing the sole plate (the aluminum sole doesn’t need to be ‘restored’) and then refinishing the steel frame doesn’t sound too difficult, but maybe i’m wrong

I've been told that but it's been done. Once said they couldn't mill aluminum but it's being done now. I think it just comes down to what people are willing to do.

You can but you'll have to purchase a shaft as well.

I did a pre selection and added to cart without restoration. Let me add stamps grip and headcover. But didn't know if someone sent without shaft that they will add grip to the shipment without fuss

They'll make you purchase a shaft, and the grip will be installed. They do not allow you to send in just a head and get components like grips sent back uninstalled.

Sent in a Pro Platinum Mid Sur for refinish. Custom Shop received putter on 8MAR. Putter is out for delivery today.

I wasn't expecting the putter back until early July.

I wonder if the CS is losing business because of their reputation for crazy pricing and rules.  There are so many refinishing options out there now that are much more appealing.
