Mallet with a plumbers neck Odyssey White Hot OG #7 CH - best of both worlds?

I've always played an Anser style putter and am used to the plumbers neck but want to try a mallet.  Seems like the Odyssey CH 07 might be a good one to try.  Any feedback on this?  Thanks.

Great putter.  Was 5 under through 11 first round in the bag.  Two weeks later I put another putter into play because I like to switch.  Excellent low toe hang putter.

I too played mostly Anser style heads and the the OG 7CH was the first mallet I ended up putting into play long term. Great putter.

 

Ultimately settled on a Toulon Las Vegas H4.5 but would have no problem putting the 7CH back into play.

Im personally fond of the 2ball blade when it comes to mallet-esque heads with blade toe hang. But the 7ch also looks real nice.

I’m waiting on a plumber neck hosel to insert on a Ping Oslo head that had a bent shaft. Can’t wait to see how it plays. 7CH is a great looking putter to my eye.

I have a TM Ardmore 2 that is the same style of putter. My putting stroke is naturally a slight arc and I have to fight an over-arcing stroke with it and it makes it difficult to get it back to square at impact.  Of course, that's me.  

 

This putter is better than my TM because there's no paint.  Putters should not be painted.

I love my 7ch. I don’t think I have ever lined a putter up better. The way it sits is so similar to what I grew up playing (answer style plumbers necks). I only really focus on the top line and let the rest of the head kind of blend. I upgraded the shaft from the stock stroke lab to a Fujikura MC Firm. It’s incredible forgiving on miss hits but the insert gives you enough feedback to know where you are on the face.   If it fits your stroke it’s a great putter.

I am thrilled with my 7CH, too, though I did have to move up one set of weights (15—>20) in order to get the feel I needed for a smooth swing. What I would REALLY love to have is a milled face 7CH. I just don’t care for the white hot face. But LOVE the shape and design!

I also like the 7ch. Easy to line up and believe it is the best hosel setup for me. 
 

wish there were a few more options with former inserts or milled options. The OG white hot feels great, but I would love to compare with something firmer. I used an old school futura X5 for years prior to this.

One thing to note on a mallet with a plumbers neck I don’t think anyone mentioned is that the neck plays face balanced. If you play a blade with that neck it has 25* + of toe hang for a stroke that has toe flow. If you put that neck on a mallet it will have less than 10* toe hang and work best for strokes that have less toe flow. Just something to keep in mind, it may or may not matter for you but typically those types of toe hang match different strokes.

True.  I think the OG 7ch is 20 degrees

The CH necks fit my stroke better than double bend setups.  I find that I can lag putt better as well, and that is my preference on the course.
