Whiskey Creek or PB Dye Near Frederick, MD

Coming into town later this week and curious if anyone has played either course recently. Would love to know about conditions/preference if possible!

Whiskey Creek is better than PB Dye.  Worthington Manor is in the same area and better than both.

I haven't been out to either one in a while. But recent conditions + weather should have both of those places in great shape. Honestly, go for whichever one suits your schedule better. 

 

If you need backups in the area, Clustered Spires and Maryland National are fine courses as well.

Whiskey Creek is better than PB Dye.  Where are you staying?

Been a few years but much preferred whiskey creek over pb dye. MD national also pretty nice.

Agree.  Golf in the Frederick area can be pricey.

 

If you are staying in or very close to Frederick and don't mind driving 30 - 40 minutes, I highly suggest driving up 15 to PA and playing Carroll Valley.  Really good track with a unique layout (not tricked up).  Even as a 1 hdcp you will hit every club in your bag.  Aerification is filling in and in good shape right now.  Very scenic with a great restaurant overlooking the golf course.  Penn National in another one, but there you are looking at an hour drive.  Lots of good courses in our area.

Ill be right near Frederick, so Whiskey is pretty close and I've been wanting to play it. I'll keep these other suggestions on my list for the next trip!

Both good...but Whiskey > PB Dye

Worthington Manor is the best public course in the area. Whiskey is scenic but way overpriced. PbDye is gimmicky.

IMO Whisky is better than Worthington and PB Dye.

If price is a concern, Whiskey Creek is more expensive than PB Dye by about $20-30/round.

 

I prefer Musket Ridge to either of them but it's a little further away.
