ProV1 vs TP5

I’ve been real curious to try to TP5 recently as I’m looking for spin off the irons but still retain a softer feeling cover like the ProV1 has. I’ve liked certain aspects of the ProV1 but would like the height of something like the ProV1x.

Is the TP5 my solution?

I tried the new pro v1 yesterday and had no issues with spin. I was getting it to stop within a couple of feet which is unheard of for me. I played the previous gen pro v1 as well and couldn’t do that. Don’t seem to have lost any distance and it seems pretty durable too. Belter of a ball.

Appreciate the insight, but like I said, looking for more height and spin off irons. I think the TP5 will be my answer overall.

Yes definitely more spin, maybe more height. Another one to try would be the Srixon Diamond ball, pretty similar performance to the TP5 for me.

TP5 feels very soft and spins like a "X" version of other balls.

I can use either the  Pro V1X and TP5.  They both play great for me with very similar characteristics.  So more height and spin with TP5 and has the softness of regular Pro V1... might be the one for you.

Im fixing to try the z star Diamond because i need more Iron spin and Driver Spin. I like the TP5 but the diamond is about 7 bucks cheaper a dozen

With the buy 3 get 1 deal I am trying the TP5 out this season. I'm always looking for spin and height on iron shots. Just hope it goes okay with driver.

Pro V1 against TP5 coming soon!

 

I normally play the TP5 but got given some Pro V1’s for my birthday. It’s been many years since I have tried the Titleists. Will report back with my findings!

Let me know how you get on with them compared to one another. 
 

I’ve only had two rounds with the TP5 so far but I’m really enjoying it. It was super windy (gusts up to 28) the most recent round with an iron change as well and it performed very well. I’m a fan of the ball big time - so much that I now have three dozen added to my stash.

I have a practice session booked in tomorrow and a round on Sunday booked in. Will report back

So 18 holes earlier testing TP5 and Pro V1. Noticed the Pro V1 had quite a bit more spin around the greens and with the irons. I was having a lot of shots back up which I haven’t had for quite a while, TP5 is drop and stop in those conditions. The only negative I found with the Pro V1 was the last hole of the day was a par 3 playing into the wind. Hit my usual 7 iron but the ball climbed and stalled into the wind. The TP5 does seem to be less effected by the wind.

I have plenty of both balls and will simply play one or the other depending on course conditions, in the firmer conditions Pro V1 and softer TP5

the Prov1 climbing and stalling in the wind is most likely due to the strike you put on the ball....not the ball itself as the Prov1 is not typically a climb and stall ball.... if you can get your hands on a left dot, the wind will be almost non existent
